Guest
DC: "The devastating effect of the pandemic has hit us for around £7m in cash. The strength of our Club is such that we are still debt free. The board has brought in £20m in cash in 3 ½ years, unparalleled in the history of AFC and any SPFL club outside Celtic and Rangers" DC: "During Derek McInnes’ tenure we’ve gone from being ranked 289th to 148th in Europe. Our aspiration is to get into the Top 100 & to do that we need to qualify for the Group Stages of any of UEFA’s competitions, including the new Conference League which starts next season." "Derek has made it clear that our strategy is to play an attractive and entertaining style of football. This season, prior to losing 8 players through COVID-19 isolation and injuries, we were being roundly applauded for how we were playing." DC: "Our projected turnover for 2020/21 is now only £10m due to the pandemic. A critical part of that is football performance-related income, prize-money of around £2m. Derek has consistently helped us achieve this level of income every season." "If a cross-border league offers a significant uplift in commercial income that benefits all Scottish clubs, and it provides a level of competition that resonates with our fans, it should be worthy of consideration." A few of the quotes from the AGM Twitter feed here. Disappointing, but not surprising. Link to comment
Guest
Cormack clearly happy with Dereks position as manager due to prize money. He's even offered excuses as to why we're out the League Cup, and have been so poor of late. He's still trying to pedal this Atlantic league shite, and he has a fixation on us becoming a top 100 UEFA club. Whatever that actually means. Judging by these comments from him, and these alone, he's a million miles from what your average punter wants. As someone previously said, "Milne with better teeth." Link to comment

Guest
Do they actually think fans look at the accounts at the end of a season and go, fucking YES! Turnover is up! So far detached from what people want. Link to comment

WesthillWanderersFC
This “top 100” stuff is corporate bollocks that most fans don’t give a fuck about in my opinion. -Play good, attacking, football. -at least sound & look like we want to finish higher than 3rd not just accept the duopoly. -Win a cup once every 5 years or so There’s other things like be better at developing/selling players & do better in Europe, but the first three are the main points No-one cares about top 100, challenger brand nonsense. 1 Link to comment

Half that teams in the proposal play in front of less than 10k a week and no bigger than Dundee United. No way that’s generating 400m Euros a year. Link to comment

I don't turn up to watch Aberdeen in the hope the turnover improves though, that, if anything should be just a bonus and an afterthought for a fan. Not a legitimate reason for keeping an underperforming manager in a job. Link to comment

Tord31
I don't agree with the comment that McInnes will be here forever. He's here at the moment and on balance probably deserves support through a sticky patch. However he needs to do something to merit a contract extension. Finishing second, winning the Scottish Cup 2021, qualifying for the Europa 2021 group stages. If he does none of that he's heading out the door at some point between August 2021 and May 2022. Sonoftherock
Were there any questions taken from the virtual floor regarding Hernandez? Or are all of our shareholders happy that we've thrown away 850k? Surely the shareholders need to be made aware of who's responsible for this disaster? I see the story about 're-couping costs'! No chance anyone is paying us 850k for a player whos hardly kicked a ball in the last few seasons! When McInnes came out with this guff, was he questioned on it? If not, why not? Link to comment

Managers aren't and shouldn't be judged on how much money they bring into a club. If anything, Derek helping get the investment in the last 3.5 years, and having fuck all to show for it, suggests he's performing below standard. Link to comment

Only 4 shareholders felt compelled to submit a question on an 850k black hole? I find that hard to believe. McInnes should have been hauled through hot coals for this one, until he provided some answers. Link to comment

I don't follow accountants, I follow a football team. Having said all that the balance sheet of 87/88 was a great time to be alive... As long as he finishes top 4 and we get trips to Hampden to fill the coffers, Dave and the rest will be alright with this. The Europa League is an impossibility it would seem, and that's been generally accepted by the board. The comments I originally posted from Cormack are disappointing. Link to comment
