graham
Must acknowledge big Kieran Ngwenya making his debut for the first team this season too. And making an immediate impact with great sliding tackle against Ross County to win a ball he had no right to win.A left back.He is Mr Shyness, not lacking in confidednce.Born in Glasgow, played rugby at schoolboy level for Stewart's Melville in Edinburgh and a bright lad rhyming off Highers all at A star. Only seen him half a dozen times at youth matches. One of those natural and rare players who just goes from youth team to first team in the blink of an eye. Link to comment
aberdeen1970
Do you follow the youth teams Graham? Any other prospects with a realistic chance of making the first team? Have you seen much of Michael Ruth? Link to comment
NEM
Looked like a fish out of water last week but wasn’t exactly helped by his team mates tbf Link to comment

Was down in Milngavie a year past December to see my mum and dad and saw Michael Ruth in a reserve game at Auchenhowie against Rangers, and he produced a turn and skill in front of the wee blue stand Johann Cruyff would have been proud of.Even his old Queen's Park manager Gus McPherson sitting beside me applauded.Playing with the living legend that is Kris Doolan,on loan at at Arbroath just now. Simply Red
Watched arbroath v dundeh last night. Ruth for Arbroath. Didnt do much. Skinny wee loon. Looked like he had a good attitude tho getting tore in and leaving a bit on. But hes a striker so we’ll see. Still time. 1 Link to comment
graham
You are right Simply Red,there is nothing of him.Needs a few scampi suppers from the Arbroath harbour chippie.Barely noticed him on Friday.Ploughed a lonely furrow upfront himself. But good attitude and gets stuck in.A class above in the Aberdeen youth and reserve team season curtailed ,and thus denied chance to win Youth Cup winners medal. Simply Red
Best game ive seen for a while (arbroath v dundeh) honesty and bravery of the players flying into tackles and getting straight back up was a joy to see. Full blooded. I never thought id see that again in pro fitba tbh. Link to comment
RUL
It was a good match and like you say the tackling was brilliant. Ngwenya progress from tynecastle boys club to Aberdeen is something else.. He struggled badly up in dingwall so will probably never be seen again. Ruth seems to have potential, one of the few out on loan playing regular.. Seen him a few times for arbroath but he needs to do more to get goals. Link to comment
graham
Gayfield is one of my favourite grounds for a midweek evening game.Handy and nearby, great setting, terracing you can walk and stroll about in,friendly club.Good game before the match has even started.Michael Ruth was prolific goalscorer in the youth and reserves, but he is getting priceles and valuable experience in the Championship with Arbroath, playing real games.Just like Miko Virtanen did. MightyDons
Ruth seemed to show some intelligence dropping deep and playing out wide during the game, but the ball spent most of the time in the air which didn't suit him. A rare opportunity playing upfront as he's been mostly utilised as a a right midfielder this season. Link to comment

Have you seen anything of Kevin hanratty? I was under the impression along with Ramsay, was highly rated. Link to comment
graham
Kevin Hanratty is a brilliant player with some sublime skills, but is a bit of a diver. Calvin Ramsay, full back, centre half, big future. Link to comment

Needs to adapt to the club he's at. Link to comment

Kevin is a very skilful winger,he draws in defenders, beats them or goes down and invariably wins a free kick.He himself is a very good taker of said free kicks. In the penalty area Kevin is known to achieve the odd penalty. Connor Barron scored a quite phenomenal number of penalties the other year. Link to comment
