We need to put money ahead of short term success because long term it helps grow the budgets etc which should give us a leg up We might well aim to do that, but ultimately we cannot force a player to leave. We can accept bids from other clubs all we like but it is a player's right to run down a contract of he so desires. In the 60s and 70s, before freedom of contract, a manager would tell a player that if he didnt sign for a club (having accepted their bid) that he would stick him in the reserves until his contract expired. But unlike now, that player wasn't free to fuck off once it had. The club retained his registration and could hold it indefinitely without paying him a wage until such point that another club paid an acceptable transfer fee or the club decided to free him. We've had very little trouble getting players to leave. One way or another. The player turnover under McInnes has been astronomical Link to comment

Bring in good players for relatively cheap and sell on when the time is right (see Cosgrove/McKenna as example; and Ferguson and McCrorie potentailly in the future). More emphasis needs to be put on youth development to encourage more players to want to come to AFC We need to have decent scouting to make that a reality. Link to comment

That's about it. Some we have tried to keep but have left on freedom of contract. But we should have sold the year before if they weren't going to stay. Jack, Shinnie. The rest we either pay off to get rid or they can't wait to get away. Link to comment
alscotoz
If we become a 'selling' club will that ambition be above aiming for third and reaching a cup semi final every few years? Link to comment

It can help, more money generated = bigger budgets which in theory should equal better players. Brentford are a great example in ENgland of this, getting good players for cheap and selling on for a good fee (Watkins, Benrahmma and even Tarkoski to an extent) I think both Ferugson and McCrorie will generate us decent fees in the future and it's a market we should look to explore more as it's a potential avenue for us given the difficulties English clubs will face with Brexit and signing non British/Irish players Link to comment

Give the managers job to the women’s team coach until the end of the season. They wouldn’t have an excuse then for preforming like a bunch of lassies. 1 Link to comment

Ke1t
If we want to be a selling club then we need a scouting system. Whatever the fuck we have right now isn't even a shadow of what would be required. Link to comment
ericblack4boss
Cormack just like hun dmc, happy to be questioned when it suits his narrative, if the scrutiny is negative he wants fuck all to do with it, Fucking coward, hun dmc attitude is contagious Link to comment
Dons21
Hope you frequent this forum Cormack. Your an absolute shitbag. Wiggy was bad, however wouldn’t have been daft enough to promise a Q&A then shit oot of it!! Link to comment

jamiesd
Unfortunately all walks of life seem to be moving this way. Narrative or shut down. Hopefully he got the message with all the questions given for vetting. Bet a lot were manager related. Link to comment
Tzvetanovs hair
Cormack not fancying the list of questions. Funnily enough he was happy enough to post videos of himself at the start of the pandemic and throughout asking for all to stay together. The community trust did a lot then to ensure that was done and the club was represented. Right now, the avoiding of addressing fan concerns in person and taking this on is a bit laughable. He loved a video before, when the shit has hit the fan on the pitch (as it was threatening to do for over 2 years now), he is shying away. The pandemic has been a disaster for all but he really needs to be stepping up to it about now, he is already looking at a real bash at season ticket monies etc for next season. Link to comment

Guest
He's absolutely right to call the Q and A off. To have a torrent of negative questions the night before an important match, would be ridiculous. What is also ridiculous is to offer this to the fans, who are understandably angry, and take it away because you don't like the look of the questions. Considering he's adamant on being "transparent" this is a really, really bad look for him. A ridiculously arrogant thing to think he could take on, and a ridiculously cowardly thing to turn to fans and fuck them off, after they'd submitted questions. Link to comment

King Street Loon
What a plonker he is. Has read the questions and has admitted to himself that answering questions about the manager and Hernandez would be like pouring petrol on an already burning fire. I find a lot of the personal attacks aimed at him and McInnes a bit unnecessary and distasteful, but in this instance he's got nobody to blame for this but himself. On what planet did he think it sensible to arrange a Q&A duringbthe current slump. He's done himself up like a kipper here. 5 Link to comment
WesthillWanderersFC
Supporting & backing an obviously out of ideas & past his shelf-life McInnes... and also states the aim is for 15,000 season ticket holders....is he buying 12,000 of them? What a shambolic farce, made himself a laughing stock & a very easy target for criticism. 1 Link to comment
Sheepo
This will haunt him now, he has more faces than Big Ben, if he believes it is only a minority of fans that are unhappy with the current management then he really is deluded. His hopes of getting 15000 season tickets is absolutely ridiculous, but he will struggle to get 5000 this summer the way he is going. His attitude to the fans here is a huge misjudgement and he must of thought we would pump St Mirren and all would be good Link to comment
