Chewie37
The only way DM leaves before he gets offered a job he wants elsewhere, is if crowds start dropping drastically before the new stadium and the Bank/Mortgage lender for the outstanding balance on the stadium needs guaranteed income from larger crowds. BWG
McInnes has ruled himself out for a job he was never under consideration for https://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/sport/football/aberdeen-fc/1696806/aberdeen-boss-derek-mcinnes-hits-out-at-ridiculous-way-english-championship-clubs-operate-after-west-brom-sack-ex-teammate-darren-moore/ To be fair to him what he says it's absolutely correct and is maybe an insight into why he turned down the Sunderland job as well. Unfortunately it looks like we're stuck with the cunt for a good long time yet. 2 Link to comment
Tord31
By all means some of the zoomers can call for McInnes' head from 8.30pm tonight but please no 'our season is over' shouts until weve at least managed 2 or 3 more wins from the last 9 games Link to comment

The manager himself has said tonight he's had a few better teams than this one. There is no reason to make a snap decision on giving the manager another pay rise Link to comment
aberdeen1970
His record in Glasgow now is excellent over the last year or so. If he can beat the Huns and Celtic back to back and go on to lift the cup it would be some achievement. Link to comment

Tord31
Just wish he would nail a couple of belters of signings to complement what we have Hopefully he brings Campbell thru over the last 10-11 games this season like he did Cosgrove last season. Things are looking about ok despite the 10 or so players that are currently leaving* *sign Considine NOW Link to comment

Seeing some younger players break through has been the biggest bonus. We haven't had a crop with potential like this for a long time. I'm pretty excited about it. Oh and knocking the Huns out of both cups. 2 Link to comment
Panda
Derek McInnes has given me some of my best moments supporting the Dons. That semi at TynecastleKnocking Celtic out the cup at ParkheadEnding the trophy draughtBeating Groningen awayBeating Rijeka awayMaddison's last minute winnerBeating Hibs at HampdenWinning at Ibrox three timesBeating them at Hampden And loads of good bounces in between. I'll take being shite sometimes to enjoy all that. Topping it off with a Scottish Cup would be fucking marvellous, especially if he does it by beating Rangers at Ibrox, Celtic at Hampden, then doing Hearts in the final. 5 1 Link to comment

I wonder if the board have said they’d back him with signings as long as he was more proactive in bringing the youth players through? Or was he just being patient and knew we were due some good players through the ranks? Link to comment
boboisared
He had a pretty funny comment on the radio post match about being the new Jim McLean with all these kids signed long term. As mentioned elsewhere he had a fair comment about why Deano isn't playing as often as we'd like but gets a game against the bigger teams. Link to comment

Guest
I have to admit that I have criticized DM a great deal in recent times, including my perceived opinion that he didn't give youth a chance in past seasons i.e he only played McKenna because we were so pish in the previous game against Motherwell. However completely happy to eat humble pie after last night. Three teenagers in midweek and beating the Huns in their own back yard was like a throwback to Fergie years. Our season had to be focused in taking out the Tims and winning the cup Link to comment

BWG
Aye I'd like to know as well because Deano's lack of game time has been pretty bewildering. He's looked up to the challenge in every game he's played, which is more than can be said for some of the established first teamers. Is it because Huns and Tims try and play football* and putting him out against shit like Hamilton will result in his knee's getting split? *the huns dinna play football. They fanny around and dive about for 90 minutes and sometimes get penalties. Link to comment
