William Eggleston this time. He's a love him or loathe kind of photographer. Primal scream have used his photos for 5 or 6 record covers, most notably Give out but don't give up and Riot city blues albums.

Would definitely buy a photobook of his if they weren't so expensive, but if you're a collector like @G31DON it's probably worth the money!

Today's book is Mexico by British behemoth Martin Parr. 

He's a marmite kind of guy, some of his stuff is a cutting and sharp satire on the British psyche.  Or a pile of old shit, depending on your viewpoint.

I'm not sure how political he is. Depends on your definition, his stuff around the UK is apolitical i would say. Someone like Chris Killip is very much a political photographer I'd say, whereas Parr is a documentarian, presenting rather than judging. 

 

I have been in constant flux with parr for 20 years.
