Dandyesque
The new Stadium should have a 20,000 capacity. It's a good round number. Some matches, you have to give 10% of tickets to away fans. That would cause a lot of complaints if we had 15000+ season ticket holders in a much smaller stadium. A brand new stadium , great facilities and a good team will see it 3/4 full most weeks and sold out half a dozen - more if we're doing something passable in Europe. And it would be shite having a smaller stadium than Killie and Hibs. Link to comment

RED_JOHN
The way we are run at the moment, the smaller stadium the better. It’s the Aberdeen way Link to comment
aberdeen1970
I think most of us would probably prefer a 20,000 seat stadium at the beach. But if you had the choice between a 16000 stadium at the beach or a 20,000 stadium at Kingsford what would you choose? Because that's what we're probably faced with, realistically. Link to comment
RED_JOHN
16k beach stadium. The Kingsford one will be handy for parking though as we can just use the driveways in the area. No one will bother…win win. Link to comment

redone
16k at the beach would be fine. Club should be catering first and foremost for the 10k or so fans that turn up regularly. Not the fair weather part-timers. 3 Link to comment

sooth_stander
Can’t help thinking the best option is the old AECC site at BoD. Not sure if there are alternative plans for that site but with the AWPR access just up the road, Park n ride already there, no brainer but alas, brains are in short supply 1 Link to comment

Oil company buildings being demolished by the day, in the northern part of the site. I recently took my loon for driving lessons round there and couldn’t believe the amount of spare land. Ten Caat
16k with no ability to increase capacity at a later date would probably tilt me towards Kingsford.......which as it stands would be easier for me to get to driving up. But I concede that many (probably most) living in the city would disagree Link to comment
slippers
Definitely Kingsford. I like the idea of beach but I can see it dragging on for 10 years before it even gets granted never mind built. We need to say to council if plans aren't in place by end of this year we need to focus our intensions on Kingsford. Link to comment
StandFree1982
16k is short sighted. As we seen against United, we can comfortably fill 19-20k on occasions. Limiting the capacity just means we're reducing the amount of potential tickets sold, the potential for decent sized Scotland games and/or Euros/World cup games if UK hosts. What would be better is 20k, but designed in a way that we can section it so we're not having the full thing open even when there's only 12-14k in it. Link to comment
sooth_stander
When would the planning permission permit run out at Kingsford? Is it 3 years? If so, must be getting close to that. No sure how you get round that, if no spade has been stuck in the ground by then but the Westhill lesbians will be getting moist at the thought of another battle with us. Have to say, surprised that Cormack is even entertaining the beach white elephant. Pie in the sky Cooncil nonsense, even moreso when it looks like we are paying for the fucker as well. Land already secured at Kingsford, site cleared and decontaminated, just get it built 1 Link to comment
