Took in GK and 5 outfield from Dundee United who only stayed up last season by winning relegation play off after our best players left to Hearts. Also bulk of last year's staff have left since Clint Lancaster went leaving new manager Colin Bell on his own more or less whilst they advertise for a new FT assistant although who knows how they can justify full time manager and assistant when players are all part time and they're now training about 7am 3 days a week so they get full pitch at Cormack. Turning in to a right shambles and they desperately need something from Montrose game on Wednesday as Celtic next Sunday could be much worse embarrassment than Huns hitting them for 11 and Hibs with 7

Two of the three Hearts signed up aren’t even getting a start. Find it strange an assistant wasn’t taken on at the same time as Bell. 

Wouldn’t be surprised if Montrose get a result against them as last season Montrose were unlucky to lose at Cormack park and deserved won on the last game of the season. Can definitely see the ladies team getting relegated again

Bayley has had an injury but got on as sub today and we're definitely missing her firepower and speed up front as certainly reverted to loads of hoofs forward by Sidey today that current forwards weren't close to getting and Eilidh S has left huge hole in our midfield as getting over run. Saw Jess B didn't even make bench today bit Hearts have strong squad. Never been officially announced that last assistant left but saw advert this week for FT post and Claire Garrett posting on social media she'd decided to leave. Looked on Hibs YouTube that CB was on touchline alone with possibly physio as looked only one other black tracksuit on bench. Imagine switching to early morning training may have led to backroom team departures as well as Lancaster going and Bell coming in. Montrose lost 4 experienced players to retiral but imagine game could go either way

They should be full pro and on the same wages as the mens team. 

Thats why they play football like 4yr olds. How is a woman meant to be able to catch a simple ball if she isnt getting paid the same as Mitov, who can.

They talk and act like world class players off the pitch so they should be paid accordingly.

I hope they get a good chunk of the Bojan fee cos they deserve it.

And how much is the total cost to run this women's 'football' thing?

If it comes out at a positive balance for the club then I have no interest in the women's team whatsoever. 

If it comes out at a negative balance then shutter the entire fucking operation immediately. 

This is a fitba club, not the Make A Wish foundation for women who'd like to be able to play fitba. 

Aff the fucking roof with the lot of them.

I thought they were supposed to be inspiring young girls?  Inspiring them to not like football more like.

With them only being part-time they'll have the same challenges finding players as the likes of Peterhead, Elgin, Forfar etc.  do in the men's game.

The only players available are local ones and attracting others to move here from anywhere on a part-time contract is very difficult.  Fishing in a very small pool.

Meanwhile the Glasgow and Edinburgh teams have a much larger pool to fish and can attract or find young players to develop and retain.  They can even attract some full-time internationals.

This isn't an argument for full time women's football at Aberdeen btw.  I think it would be a positive for the club and the area to have a successful women's team, but the odds and the logistics are against it, unless women's football really takes off up here the way it has down south, but I can't see that happening because the population is too small.  Give it a few years and the ugly sisters will be flashing their knickers at the English leagues in an effort to get a move down there due to "lack of competition".

They've a lot more sponsors than them among which are John Lawrie Metals on rear of shirts, GAC on sleeve and Katoni Engineering on their shorts. Also get funding through SFA and other sources for the now u13, u15 and u17 NextGen teams as well as the first team

Hearts set up is mainly funded by the rich benefactor Anderson who targets some of his cash he donates to it

Him leaving did actually affect the team as his partner Nadine Hansen left when he did. She was very experienced player having previously been at Aston Villa amongst others and started last season aa captain until she took a medical break when she fell pregnant
