Well it's only 25 minutes or so down the road from his family home but is he ready to admit that Killie is his "level" yet or will he continue to hold out for a job he considers more in line with his personal ambitions?

Can see Davidson getting the season regardless, he’s enough credit in the bank from the cup double. I wouldn’t bet against McInnes ending up back there though.

I can’t see McInnes being interested in going to any Scottish club smaller than us Hibs or Hearts

Wright and the chairman didn’t really get on despite his success at the club. Was constantly criticising the lack of backing every time the transfer window opened. Can’t see him going back there.

As for McInnes it depends how much he misses managing. He seems to be doing okay with punditry etc at the moment, maybe happy to have a break for a while.
