Mikey has been really unlucky with injuries. A small foot fracture being missed caused far more damage in the long run for him.

He is well liked at the club and the club/Glass are both keen to give him every opportunity to get fit.

Working hard in the gym over Christmas but getting Covid dosn't help.

Oh ffs.

Are we back to the Calderwood ways of keeping players that are ‘good to have around the place’

get rid of him. Even if he did get over his injuries he will be of no use this whole season (& many prior) so fk knows what wages have been blown on this fkn crock

We should definitely cut our ties with them. Look at what we have received from them and we had the good grace to loan them Hernandez.

For all the money they have they seem to have a huge surplus of Shite players.

I reckon they go more for the financial scattergun approach for signing players then offload their shite our way. Honestly cannot see Atlanta EVER sending a decent player our way. If they find anything close to decent then they will keep him for sure. Struggling MLS team wouldn’t send a decent player to Scotland.

It's the designated player model

A handful of guys on big money with a supporting cast on minimal MLS wages

Using scout resources I can understand but we shouldn’t be talking their dross players and being asked to look after them for a while until they learn the rules of the game. They obviously treat us as a diddy outfit so we should tell them to bolt.
Cormack will probably argue the case that it’s all new and will take time but you really have to question the intentions both ways when it comes to loaning players. It’s farcical.

But both the shite players they have sent our way have been sent because of their UK connection. I just cannot see any time where they can possibly send us a player worthy our level of football in reality (because of permits etc.) so it’s a waste of time from our point of view it seems. They are more likely to benefit from us sending them our youth players than them sending us their shite that aren’t good enough to be in their first team.

Must be a permit thing that we get the guys with UK heritage?

Otherwise it would indeed make more sense to send over their promising youngsters.

The problem with this 'relationship' is that despite their apparent riches the teams are too close ability wise for either team to really benefit.

Their fringe players aren't good enough to get into our team and our fringe players aren't good enough to get into theirs.

My (wild assumption) of the ‘deal’ is that Atlanta basically wanted to use Aberdeen as their ‘Atlanta B’ team/feeder club because their own one is so shite.

Only chance we can get a decent player from them is if he is an international (domestic or foreign) & they are at their limits for foreign players. That said. The chances of them sending us a US International are pretty much zero as they wouldn’t waste that on us.

Now if we could sell them Ramsay for megamils then that would indeed be good.

Aye that would be ideal for them.  And us if they paid big bucks.

Would take a fair bit of convincing to get Ramsay or any other promising Scottish youngster to go there instead of the promised land of the English Premier League though.

I don’t know. A lot of great weather. Great experience & big money.  2/3 years there would be a great experience for him & not detrimental given he’s still so young

Two ‘brilliant’ duds returned to sender

Still a stack to get through

The fact we are giving Kennedy the chance to stay (because no cunt else wants him) & are considering a new deal for Devlin shows how desperate we are.

Our new head of recruitment hasn’t exactly hit the ground running. Get the feeling he is just another of Cormacks  ‘favours’ brought in to stroke his ego
