Donmacca
It's a solid appointment. Nothing exciting about it but good business. Also means that hopefully we'll start taking in players like McGrath from Ireland to develop and sell on as well as our own youth players Link to comment

BonnieDon
Fantastic appointment. I genuinely believe folk will be shocked by how well he does. We also have a chance of getting 4th now under his stewardship. If he does achieve that, amazingly we've achieved the same level of success as the past 3 seasons. I'd argue we got away with this dire season. 1 Link to comment
seasider
Great appointment , wish him well . I know he will give the job a 100% .........it is his worth ethic . However all managers require a bit of luck and I hope he has that . Get that Scottish Cup to Pittodrie , it has been a long wait. Link to comment
torry_battery_ram
Certainly makes the games from now to the end of the season more interesting. We will get a much clearer idea of who hasn't been pulling their weight under Glass and who isn't good enough for this club. I think Goodwin won't tolerate some of the limp performances we've unfortunately been subjected to this season. Link to comment
redone
I thought we’d probably get Jack Ross , mainly due to him being available. I’m happier with Goodwin though and think he’s as good a choice as any of the other names realistically mentioned. One thing though , he shouldn’t be judged on the rest of this season. The squad is mid-table quality , at best, so Goodwin can’t reasonably be expected to get us any higher than that , especially with the squad being depleted. That’s not saying this season should be written off and used as a sort of free-hit/experiment. If he can get more out of the squad than Glass did, fine.... that’ll bode well for next season. No matter how the rest of the season pans out , Goodwin needs to be given the chance to rebuild the squad with his own signings. And getting rid of whoever he doesn’t want. Link to comment

He should be judged on every game up to a point. I'm not one for writing off 1/3 of a season, there's still work to be done. Will be interesting to see if he can get a more consistent run going with this lot, half of which don't appear to want to be here. Link to comment
johnstrac
He needs to bring about improvement if nothing else, starting from 9th is a handicap but progress would be good. Link to comment

Win today and we could end the day 4th depending on other results... ...equally lose and we could be 10th. Link to comment
