McRorrie?

Ferguson (short term to potentially increase fee we get)?

Lewis until season end & when Goodwin signs someone better suited?

Mine would be McRorrie but only if he is to be shifted back into midfield. Not sure he has the mentality & will get in refs face though.

I hope Lewis doesn’t get it & I doubt Goodwin would offer it back to him unless only for last few games

In a good side he is a fantastic player to have. Solid tackler & fit as fk. Never stops & allows others to do the more noticeable stuff.

Folk will get on his back when the team is doing badly but the truth is he is a very solid & dependable player in a good or bad side but in a good side he is able to do the shit he does best

I'd give it to McCrorie - and Hayes as vice captain - both of them give 100% every week and they can drive the team on. Joe Lewis is possibly the worst captain that I can ever remember, the definition of uninspiring.

Mental he was given the captaincy about 10 years ago but then Anderson came back and took it. Don’t think Considine has been given it since because the narrative at the start of the season is always that he’ll be a squad player…. Then he plays about 45 games

He's a pretty legit talent. He'll command more than that in the championship or bottom of the epl. There are so many vet scrubs on wages that could go to LF instead. Plus the youth get an opportunity. Not sure how Dylan mcgoofy or Matty crackheadedy bring towards top of the table and group stage football. Just give the money to LF and clear the way for Connor baron types.

Not that unreasonable.  No more bs 2m offers that way. Other teams would need to come correct or screw off

That may have been the narrative on here but there’s been nothing from McInnes or Glass (or Goodwin’s comments this week) to suggest that was their thinking.

For the past few years he has been a consistent high performer and plays almost every match, a true pro and so probably got it by default but uninspiring?  I can imagine things would have been a lot worse without him at times.

They'd have been a lot worse only because the alternative is Gary Woods, who is up there with the worst goalkeepers we've ever had. Joe Lewis was a great keeper for the first 2-3 years. He's been a below average SPL level keeper in the last couple of seasons. Could probably name 6 or 7 keepers in the SPL who are better than him now. Whether that's partly due to him not being able to handle the responsibility of being captain, or whether he's just getting old and no longer as reliable, I don't know.
