Not believing in this drone attack until there is evidence, not just the word of netenyahu.

It’s about the time the Arabs dished out some knuckle sandwiches though. Israel aren’t even hard, they’ve just got some hard mates and lots of £

They have nukes, and a more than lunatic doctrine for their use.

Though rumour had it that the Iranians acquired some nuclear weapons around the time of the fall of the Soviet Union, so that's something for the Israelis to think about.

Have a great weekend everyone.

when your "hard mates" are the US and Europe thats pretty significant. and israel has a robust domestic arms industry. and a lot of fanatics. those settlers cunts are pretty hard id say.

If you destroy Israel, they’ll ensure the world goes with them

iran must have known that not much would get through. makes them look like they avenged the embassy thing whilst not actually starting WW3, so thats a W for them.

israel would do well to just say some rhetoric stuff and move on without attacking back but when you arent restrained by the normal code of international relations you probably do something dumb.

You have Religious fundamentalists running Iran and religious fundamentalists running Israel, there's no moderation anywhere between the parties.

Israel provoked this with the attack on the Iranian embassy, so they didn't do that just to go, "Och, that's us square now" when Iran responded.

I don't think this is over by a ways, yet.

I can see attacks on Iranian military installations or even oil facilities in the coming days or weeks. And then Iran will have to respond again... and then more escalation.

You’re right there - multiple news channels used that word.

also interesting how the US/ Israel leaked news of the impending attack days ago yet apparently the Oct 7th attack completely blindsided them. Absolute rubbish

It’s started already with that shill Keunssberg “so do you condemn Iran?” chat. Fück off.

What in the name of fuck are UK warplanes doing over Iraq and Syria getting involved in this? Sunak you mini Diddy Kong fuckwit.

Israel has been firing missiles into foreign soil on Lebanon, Iraq, Syria and Gaza for fucking months now yet this is “unprecedented”?

Israel have been kicking the hornets nest for long enough and to do so without expecting any sort of response in kind I would suggest they is naive but they knew exactly what Iran would do and it’s the response they want. Fuck them.

They’ve got their own defences, aircraft, missiles and iron domes and shit…so let them get on with it without our involvement.

Iran was saying they would do something so it’s not like us / israel leaked anything.  The oct 7 thing was likely down to Israel not reading the signals very well despite there being plenty of signals.  That’s what happens  when you are a quasi religious fundamentalist state….you are so preoccupied with your own feeing of superiority it makes you lazy.

sneaky

Here in the US the media really is awful at this. The bbc, sadly, also seems to be. It’s beginning to turn here a little bit but there is a disturbing and well established pattern of not criticizing Israel, especially on the settler stuff, whilst pretending Hamas are just doing this for no particular reason. They often provide zero context.

Yeah. Agreed. We are seeing Israel right wingers already call for a response. In a sane world they’d just move on.
Mealy mouthing from the US too saying they won’t take part in a direct attack on iranian soil whilst continuing to provide the support that makes that possible.
Biden nearing an inflection point here. He wants to win the general in November and this is beginning to hurt him. I’m sure you’ve seen it change in your time here, the us public support of Israel is in decline but it’s institutions aren’t responsive to that

I'm sure AIPAC being the most well-funded and influential lobby group in the United States, representing and promoting the interests of a small sliver of land thousands of miles away in the middle east, and all major political parties in the UK having powerful "Friends Of Israel" groups, is entirely coincidental, and Israeli Zionism in no way has a vice-like grip on the entirety of "impartial" Western media and politics or anything

The Israelis watching the fences etc knew something was up, those in power chose to ignore it, they knew fine what was going to happen.

Or it's the best term to describe something that's never happened before.

It's almost as if news channels use words that best describe an occasion. Who'd have thought it.
