Tried to bump me for a low 4-figure sum, eventually paid after I paid a solicitor to write to him. Not that unusual because most builders work this way. What was unusual was him phoning me a few months later asking if I'd do more work for him. Startling lack of self awareness.

Done work for me some years ago after a recommendation. Did an ok job and any snagging was done without too much fuss. I worked in the trade so understood certain delays.

I then gave his number to a family member and they've had nothing but bother with his firm. A lot of work not done correctly and he's often uncontactable or just ignores messages or phonecalls to rectify situation. And when he does make contact he's full of promises then doesn't follow through. I suspect he's no working capital to buy materials etc to effect repairs. I've advised family member to go solicitors route and that'll come eventually I hope. Nobody should have to put up with what they've had to with him and his firm.

Have to say I hate tradesmen like that ripping folk aff, not contactable after the job is done .

When I was in business I was always there for any problems that occurred like low pressure on the boiler or even small radiator valve leaks .

This happens with any company and any plumber just the our line of work is .

The key is to be there for your customer's and never let them down.

That helps your company grow.

This has been ongoing the best part of 6 months, and even before that it was an issue forca good while.

Had it been me, I'd have had my solicitor on to him.

Hope you've offered to put right the issues to your family member you recommended the cunt to.
