Think we should try him out wide, as a short term solution? 

Lots of options in the middle and it's nae like he's done much there. 

Can't see him flying past a lot of players but give him the ball in a decent position out wide and a wee jink or two to make some space to whip the ball in. Worth a try surely.

Thought hevhad some lovely touches today and a few great passes, but didn't impose himself enough. 

Better than Barron when he came on though.

What do folk make of Leighton Clarkson these days.I have always liked him and think he is settling in as one of our best and more consistent players.Less spectacular and not seen so often now as an attacking force but gets through a power of work and can tackle and make a pass.More a defensive midfielder role nowadays .Good footballer.

The midfield was completely lost in the 1st half today, or swamped, not sure what. With better midfielders in the door over the summer, hopefully that will see Clarkson flourish.
If not, then it’s another feckin expensive mistake.

Id like to see McGrath play more centrally next season, which is not going to help Clarkson’s case.

Will probably improve when Barron moves on. Clarkson, Barron and Polvara are too alike to all play in the same team, McGrath too to a certain degree. All in all could have had a couple if assists today if it wasn't for the finishing.

Clarkson and Barron are completely different midfield players. 

Clarkson can't do what Barron does and Barron can't do what Clarkson does.

He was terrible again today but as we know there is a player in there, hopefully Jimmy can get back last seasons Clarkson

The boy is trying too hard.

He has the ability, as we’ve seen many times before, including recently in the semi for the opener.Miovski’s run was great too but still had to make the pass.

He needs to play his fitba further up the pitch where he’s most effective.

A solid defensive midfielder is an absolute must in the Summer, along with a new keeper.

Hes alright. I thought we got an unreal coup when we signed him permanently. Really wonder what the transfer fee was. I thought we had a player we’d get performances out of and sell on for 3-6 million. 
 

maybe that’s not the case and need to reset expectations. More Paul Sheerin than Kenny McLean / Lewis Ferguson perhaps

Aye. Was strange. The tactics that allowed him to flourish at the end of last season were ultimately his downfall this season (under Robson)

Thought he was good more often than not last season to be honest. Immense debut. Ridiculous free kick away to st johnstone. Class goal against hibs at home too. All just oozed confidence… and that’s under Goodwin. Then he was even better towards the end.

He was fairly poor today but he still created a few more than decent chances for his teammates. Seems to still just want to find the hollywood pass even when it’s cleary not on though.

But anyone who can’t see the quality he possesses has their eyes painted on. He will undoubtedly kick on when he is actually working with a competent manager for an extended period of time
