JojoJuan
I think our only possible saving grace this season might be that pretty much everyone has displayed signs of being shite so far. Killie look shite, Hibs look shite, both saints look pretty shite, Dundee Utd look capable of being really shite. Huns also looked like they can turn on the shite over in Belgium. Feeling like last season wasn't a one off, and whoever manages to be the least shite the most often will make Europe and the chance to represent the SPL for our latest embarrassment. Beginning to wonder why I am subjecting my son to this. Guess at least our season might not be dull. 1 Link to comment

Not everyone else in the league has spent the guts of £1.5-2 million (if prices are to be believed) on improving their squad over the Summer. Motherwell were shite most of last season, have brought in 4 players on free transfers, were beaten home and away by Sligo Rovers and yet still managed to beat us while looking comofrtably the better team. That's worrying. Link to comment

JojoJuan
Just now, slippers said: Hearts look as If they will stroll third again if we can’t get our act together. I think you are right. I don't like it, but I don't see anyone else putting enough together to change it. We will score goals this season, if we can sort out the bomb scare defending then we have chance, but that needs to be the priority over the next few weeks Link to comment

That's worrying. I agree it is worrying. I do think there are a few positives for us if we choose to find them. We do have players that can hurt other teams, and some might take time. I think it is dangerous to take punts on almost the entire defence though Link to comment

Even then they had the worst 3rd placed points total since the 13/14 season. They weren't exceptional. Everyone is pish, I just hope we're in the least pish position at the end of the season. Based on Saturday, being comfortably safe from relegation, improving our points total from last season and doing slightly better in the cups will be a success. But also hoping Saturday was just a blip and we improve in the next 2 games. Link to comment

Hertz will (at best) go through the same cycle we did where their chairman/woman/person/dyke slowly realises you get the same reward for coming just 3rd as you do for coming a clear, distant and expensive 3rd. Whoever ends up being especially bad in the least games will be top 4. Most teams will take points off each other again. I think we will be in the mix, but I am less optimistic about 3rd than I was on Friday Link to comment

Donscanada
I think it is really hard to judge after 3 matches our 1.5mm transfer investment never mind with all the injures. Similarly the annoying posters who seem to value goodwin record with the shite team he inherited without a transfer window last year. Outside of glasgow only hearts has shown any consistency and that is true this year so far. The dons are likely top 4 on talent on paper but motherwell proved the game is played on the pitch. HaarDon
Annoying thing was Hammel arrogantly saying he had us sussed before the match. He was correct. Link to comment
Schapenneuker
I'm not sure that saying that every other side in the league is pish as well is making me feel any better. Last season was probably the worst quality league in Scottish history, and we damn well could have been relegated out if it. The early signs this season are not really encouraging me to believe that anything will be any different this season. We desperately need to string a few hard fought yet boringly pish 1-0 or 2-1 wins together. Partly to give us the confidence to kick on, but also to make sure that we don't get drawn into a battle down at the bottom of the league. Link to comment
zeroisgod76
Hammel has come in as Motherwell manager and got the new manager bounce that we were never able to get under Goodwin. Appointed after being humiliated home and away by Sligo, he has won 2 of his 3 league games as manager and only lost the other after a 94th minute winner for St Johnstone. Even with the shit he inherited last season Goodwin should have done better than 2 wins from 12 (now 3 from 15). Link to comment

Was it really any worse than it has been over the past decade or so? Or is it just the case that we were criminally shite & made the other shite teams prove than just having half a dozen or so decent games is enough to keep them above the real shite? Don’t think the rest of the league were really any more shite than they have been when we were clambering about nearer the top of said shite pile in reality. Link to comment
