I believe they even charge pensioners of 75 and over again when they used to be exempt.

Haven't paid since 2017. Get a reminder letter about once every 6 weeks saying I'm under investigation and can expect a visit from one of their Dundee office enforcement team at any time.

There’s a law you can use when dealing with them every 3 years or as soon as the reminder letters come in, as long as you own your home you can take away the tv licensing companies right of “ease of access”, so unless they catch you with bbc 1 on and resort to try and post a fine using a giant litter picker then your all good.

After years of not paying, I was convinced these guys didn't exist. However...

Buzzer went last week and asked if it was "flat such and such belonging to Mr Howard Marks."

I said stupidly said "yes."

Chap went "it's TV Licensing."

I was quick on my feet, making up for my initial mistake and went "sorry I'm not in at the moment."

"okay I'll pop a note through your letterbox."

"thanks have a nice day."

I genuinely thought it might have been the postcode lottery.

Needless to say, I had the last laugh.

They’ve been to my door once, we were oot and mother in law was babysitting the kids but had thankfully been briefed to tell them to bolt.
