AFC Chat Awards 2022 - the Results (and ties)

More strung out than GB1875 and his final days in Edinburgh, we have the results for this year's awards now counted up and ready to announce. 
 

So, here it is:

Best Thread: In the News - one of a few categories where we had a clear winner. Obviously the ongoing Covid saga gave us a lot of mileage and arguments here, but that was bolstered with the rest of the worldwide shit show we have had plenty to talk about in 2022. The Wildlife and Pet Hates threads shared 2nd place, with a range of others all getting mentions. 
 

Worst Thread: Coronavirus - Another clear winner. Hopefully next year it doesn't even get a mention. In the strange world of the Hat, Dad's Wildlife thread also made 2nd place here too. (Dis)Honourable mentions for Cockney's playlist and DU 4 v 0 AFC. 
 

Biggest Gluepot: @tutankamun- this was a close run thing but Tuts' work across Covid and other threads sees him just beat off the following, @red kelly, @CCB III, @zeroisgod76, @Matt Armstrong's Dog and @fine-n-dandy

Must try harder in 2023 (Tied): This one was up for grabs till near the end with 16 contenders. However, @Bluto10and @BrianFaePerth got two votes apiece to separate them from the rest. 
 

Funniest Poster: @Bad_Mobby- Again it was close but Mobs' work across all threads to take the heat out of things, be irreverent, be close to the knuckle has been vindicated. @manboobs109was second with three votes. @Kelt, @milne_afc and @Fridgeshare 3rd place. 
 

Most negative poster: @zeroisgod76takes this one and not much more to say on that! Loads of others scoring votes here. 
 

Moment of the year: I have to confess that I don't remember this one but @Matt Armstrong's Dogtakes the prize here for confessing to some kind of homosexual rape whilst sleeping (I presume on the receiving end of one rather than admitting criminality). Not a lot of votes cast here but enough for three of you to call this the MoTY. 
 

Biggest Rivalry(Tied): A complicated one as there were a few votes for multiple rivalries with people. However, it appears that the expected hatters rose to the top here. Three votes for @NEMv @CCB IIIand @Parklifev @manboobs109won the day. It's fair to say that Parky, Consi and Moobs all had a strong year here. Consi, you probably could take an individual award here as you also had rivalry with your sexuality, the Tories, and anyone. We also saw this cement the name of the Righteous Brothers name as a collective for Parky and Consi. 
 

Worst Poster: Some consistency demonstrated here by voters as @zeroisgod76also won this with 4 votes. A decent spread of votes cast here too, but @Dadand @Matt Armstrong's Dogshare 2nd spot here. 
 

Best Newcomer: The clearest of clear winners. Congratulations to @Edwin Starrfor his win here. Don't think this was ever in doubt and he ran away with it with 10 votes. Closest was @sighwith 2 votes. @Fridgefinally loses grip on this award. A special mention also to @Parklifefor his jeans gaining a vote here!

The big Three awards now. 
 

Best International Poster: @Grays Babylon 1875can sit and drink cachaca next to a pile of rubble before retiring to the swamp, knowing he secured 7 votes. With @Kelt @Poodler and @BrianFaePerth all scoring a couple of votes each

 Best Poster: A very close run thing but congratulations to @milne_afcfor securing this year's POTY crown with 3 votes. Another good spread. Sharing 2nd place we have @manboobs109 @Sooper-hanz @CCB III and @Parklife all with two votes each. Oh and @JumboJET.

Lifetime Achievement (Tied): We have a 4-way tie here. All scoring 3 votes each are as follows - @manboobs109 @milne_afc @Dad and @Bad_Mobby
