Are we the worst...

Recommended Posts

Are we the worst at crossing in the league? Out of all the games I watch we definitely seem to hit more straight out the park, fail to beat the first man or overhit the cross than any other team. It surely can't be that hard to hit a ball in between the posts but it seems we've been this way for a couple of years anyway.

Also, this one gets on my tits. But what the fuck are we doing when we get a throw in? It's like everyone hides. I first noticed it at the Motherwell game when they pumped us and we played them again a few days later and gave McKenna a start. It now happens every game with the majority of throw ins

The throw ins have been dire for years... seems to be no movement and often the player taking the throw in is standing there for ages wondering what to do (happens particularly with MacKenzie when he's taking them).

To be fair re throw ins I vividly remember the days of Jess (2nd time around) moving to accept the throw in and the rest of the midfield turning their backs either hiding or uninterested.

More recently the old up-the-line moved from being a viable option to gain us some territory to being the only play we would even consider (or frankly be capable of), which makes doubling up to defend it so much easier.
