Probably correct.

But there’s two things in play.

Can we afford a keeper similar to Gorter (ie proper competition for Roos), when we need to sign a good few outfield players?

And second, the homegrown rule for Europe. 
He takes up one of the 8 slots

I’d have liked a better keeper if I’m honest, Doohan has bummed around the lower leagues of Scotland & England & I think it would be a worry if Roos was out long-term.

I also get the feeling Roos needs kept on his toes or complacency could set in.

Its not a good signing BUT we were in a pickle with Joe Lewis turning in to the worst keeper in our history and quite probably being on something ridiculous like £5k/week+

Same.  Feels more Woods than Cerny/Alexander but happy to be proved wrong.

Watched his interview on RedTV.  Talks about being here to learn and push Roos, but it's obvious he's here as a sub.  No mention of Lewis in the chat, so guessing he's on the way out as no way we have budget for three senior keepers.

I am struggling with the negative response to this signing. I think it’s it’s a very sensible move for us. He is a young (25 is young in goalkeeper terms), backup goalkeeper, who has played a fair amount of games, has room for development, meets the home grown rules for Europe and will not be sucking the budget like Joe currently does. Joe would definitely show as a “red” within our traffic light system for cost vs game time.
