Crossbow
I remember him as one of our forward pairing with Joe back in the day and watching him as a wee boy in a Cup Final back in 1970. RIP. Link to comment
Guest Matt Armstrong's Dog
A great player by all accounts and part of the legendary 1970 Scottish Cup winning team that fucked over celtic in the final that year against all odds. RIP JF. Link to comment
Kincardine_Mearns_Red
RIP a late 60s/early 70s Dons legend and a crucial part of a great team we had at the time. 1 Link to comment

Helmet
The bbc article is a bit crazy - barely mentions he played for other clubs. Link to comment

Reading the Scottish media you’d barely know he played for the Dons 🙄 He actually played more games for us than the vermin. RIP. Played in a Dons cup winning team, which aside from the 80’s, is a rare thing. 3 Link to comment

Lazy cunt of a Glasgow journalist. Basic research & he either couldn’t be arsed or didn’t think it was newsworthy. Link to comment

Anyhoo Forrest was some player and was he not part of the Dons/Washington Whips side that toured the States, and reached the final? Link to comment

Going by what my old pal said (a Barcelona bear but a bloody good lad) about Jim Forrest, he was soon released after featuring for the dead club in the 1967 SC loss to Berwick. Their loss, Aberdeen's gain.👍 Link to comment
shooftahmooftah
Great player for the Dons , fast scored some great goals for the Dons watched him many times at pittodrie, RIP Jim. Link to comment
Reykjavik 1967
Jim Forrest was my favourite player in my teens. He played CF for Rangers but Turnbull played him as a winger, and what a winger he was. He was usually on the right wing where he could run at the full back, and with the pace he had there wasn't a defender in the league who could stop him getting to the bye line to cross a ball. You hear the expression "explosive pace" well he had that. He scored 62 goals for us and had assists for probably twice as many. Rest in peace, Jim, and thank you for the memories you created for many of us. Link to comment
Lang Bar
Winning the Scottish Cup for afc was an amazing achievement in 1970 against arguably the best team in Europe. Jim Forrest was an integral part of that legendary Dons side. He was super fast, and had a shot on him to rival Peter Lorimer. RIP Jim Forrest Link to comment
