5 years at Huns

5 years at Dons

BBC ‘Rangers legend dies’ & only a brief mention he played for us as well

More apps for us than Huns (more goals at Huns though) & 3 of his 5 Scot caps with us

Rip. Was an amazing player

Just seen this on the BBC, usual West coast bias.

Possibly not the time to mention it as Jim was a helluva player for us.

Don't forget when the Titanic went doon the P & J reported that an NE man was lost at sea.

Anyhoo Forrest was some player and was he not part of the Dons/Washington Whips side that toured the States, and reached the final?

Jim Forrest was my favourite player in my teens. He played CF for Rangers but Turnbull played him as a winger, and what a winger he was. He was usually on the right wing where he could run at the full back, and with the pace he had there wasn't a defender in the league who could stop him getting to the bye line to cross a ball. You hear the expression "explosive pace" well he had that. He scored 62 goals for us and had assists for probably twice as many. Rest in peace, Jim, and thank you for the memories you created for many of us.
