Pitches in the SPFL

Recommended Posts

I know this has been discussed before but after watching a number of games this week, and we’re now Into November and I can’t believe how good the conditions of the pitches are, ie Ross County’s, Motherwell’s, Pittodrie, even Hampden looked decent today. In seasons gone by, pitches would start to look crappy by now and would get worse as the season wore. For years, the Pittodrie pitch was awful, now it looks tremendous- and will probably stay that way if we keep playing.

the SPFL have strict rules regarding the quality and size of clubs stadia and governance etc, yet bafflingly, and typical of the SPFL, they allow the likes of Killie and Livi to play on their pathetic artificial pitches. If relatively small clubs like Ross County can make the grass pitch at Victoria Park a great surface to play, then surely Livi and Killie should have the finances to have grasses pitches and pitches in good condition.
Artificial pitches have no place in professional football and should be banned.
Apologies if I’m just repeating previous message threads.
