Alex Neil

Why not, great with Norwich before unfairly being sacked, great with person before stagnating a bit and mutually departing , great with Sunderland before getting nabbed by Stoke. Flopped at Stoke to be fair but manager with a proven track record and experience is exactly what we need. We won’t get any better candidates coming up.

Alex Neil is exactly the sort of man we need. A man who will be desperate to save his own reputation after failing at his last English club.

His next move will make or break him and a club like Aberdeen is a huge opportunity for him to show he can be a success.

It would be a similar appointment as McInnes when he was brought in and I honestly believe he would restore some pride and bring similar levels of success.

That's said, Cormack will continue to be indecisive and no doubt stick with Robson and we will continue to be the laughing stock Cormack has turned is into. Also, not convinced Neil will want to work under someone like Cormack and if I am being completely honest I don't blame him, he is the biggest wanker to be associated to our club in our proud history.

Agree he wouldn’t smirk laugh and be in denial after getting whipped by the likes of St Mirren at home.

Seriously you're turning up your nose at a manger with premier league experience as our u18s coach relegates us. Laughable.

I think you’re looking at this the wrong way. Pretty sure anyone would take Neil over Robson. But doesn’t mean they would have him as our manager.

I don’t have a name that I’d have but I want it to be someone that plays attacking fluid football, track record of promoting youth and been successful in his last/current position.

You guys are way off track about Cormack. He made a bad mistake with Glass but most of us seen Goodwin asa sensible choice after that failed experiment. Robson looked a sensible appointment following the Goodwin debacle after we mad e 3 Rd from an almost hopeless position. It’s bad times now and Robson is doing us no favours with his quite silly quotes on the media. He was and is quite inexperienced and clearly not fit for this job. We all think the squad are good but sticking with Hayes is a good example of why that might not be the case. Cormack made a mistake with Glass but can we all, hand on heart, say he did not have reason to appoint Goodwin and Robson? I think he has the dandies best interest at heart and I think he is a committed dons fan. We can’t “sack him” he is the man behind the finance, like it or not. The next appointment will be crucial and he will know that very well. He will definitely not want to be the main man in charge to see our pride hugely dented with a relegation struggle. We will find an experience coach soon, I am sure. Alex Neil might be the man but I suspect there will not be a long queue of big names for the job in the FROZEN NORTH….let’s be sensible and realistic.

Dave started the rot with his ego appointment of his puppet manager.

Your right in terms of Goodwin he has/has relative experience of management however i think that this job came to soon for him, quite a jump with all respect going from St Mirren to dons.  I do think this is an attractive job though especially if you look at it from the outside.  We are a club that can pay reasonable fees and wages for players in a league that outside 2 clubs generally doesn't, add in the factor we have access to European football and the opportunity to really cement the club as 3rd force and challenge in cups and try to progress far as possible in Europe.  I'd say thats an attractive project for some managers.   Anyone that does come though will obviously be looking at moving to England at some point
