This is odd. What happened to root and branch review of club before going forward? Or is this another 4 month appointment for him.

Jordan Miles informed them he was leaving a while ago so they’ve had plenty of time to find a replacement. Can hardly leave the role empty.

I think if he’s moved on from his current role it’ll be once this review is complete, more likely into another role at the club to save face.

Interesting that he’s moved from a Sporting Director role at Blackpool to a HoR role here.
Nothwithstanding we’re a much bigger club, seems a bit of a downward move, unless, he’ll step into Gunner’s shoes, in the not too distant future.

Think the head of recruitment here is a big role in terms of the recruitment worldwide we are looking at and obviously the abrupt parting of the ways at Blackpool wasn't a happy way to finish there either so probably just happy to get back in the game and doing what he had enjoyed previously.

Because I’m bored and have some spare time this morning.

IMO our permanent recruitment since Summer 2021:

Great

Bojan Miovski

Good

Christian Ramirez

Dante Polvara

Ylber Ramadani

Duk

Nicky Devlin

Jamie McGrath

Ok

Scott Brown

Angus MacDonald

Leighton Clarkson

Graeme Shinnie

Slobodan Rubezic

Below Average

Marley Watkins

Kelle Roos

Ester Sokler

Ross Doohan

James McGarry

Richard Jensen

Shite

Jack Gurr

JET

Declan Gallagher

Gary Woods

David Bates

Jayden Richardson

Anthony Stewart

Calum Roberts

Pape Habib Gueye

Shayden Morris

We’ve also taken in 16 players in on loan the last few years with arguably only getting worthwhile varying contributions from Scales, Pollock, Shinnie & Clarkson

IMO I'd say Ruby is below average but otherwise aye spot on, can Morris, Gurr, Richardson and Stewart have their own category of fucking horrific?

I'd probably be putting Duk and Ramadani in the great bracket too. 'great' doesn't really cover Miovski, who we will likely shift for our biggest ever fee in the summer.

Duk clearly hasn't hit the same heights this season, but he came with no big expectations and was one of the top players in the league last season

Teams will still take a punt on him though - we mightn't get what we were hoping for last season but we'll still get a tidy amount for Duk. The work for the summer recruitment starts now unfortunately so we'll see whether this guy is any good or not. Would hope the manager for next season would have been sourced by that point too. Ideally in the door for the split.

The work that was done for the January window has been particularly fruitful so far

Not on him is it?  And if people are to be believed, the issue isn't really the Head of recruitment, they only identify players, it's then up to those above to get the deals done, also it doesn't help if the HoR recommends some players and people above say "no not them" then pursuing some shite.

Hopefully the review helps identify these issues and suggests solutions to them as well

Exactly.
Identifying players (the HoR) is one thing.

The problem lies with the fact we have Steven Gunn as DoF who is responsible for negotiating with the club ms & players agents.
