Is shankland good enough to play the role that sees mcginn and mctominay score so many goals for Scotland though? Mcginns scored as many as Kenny miller in less caps. Clarke didn't comment on striker aspect or Lewis Ferguson but made comments on 'glad to get Cooper game time and Patterson aswell who haven't been getting game time at their clubs'. Hopefully Hickey starts ahead of him. Hoping Ben Doak is fit by the summer and somehow gets a bit of gametime at Liverpool - I'd take him along as an attacking option. Dykes is ok if we want a battering ram, and Adams is okay at holding the play up etc, but neither can score goals. Shankland is more of a goal threat but contributes less overall, and for Scotland you need every player to be contributing. The Hulk Posted March 27 Share Posted March 27 Shankland isn't as good back to goal as Dykes or Adams. If Scotland are playing on the front foot every game Shankland has a chance. In the finals I don't think he starts in this system. I think he should've started last night, the game was made for him; had a couple of half-chances in the time he was on. But alot of how Scotland are currently set up is based on data on how they're playing in their clubs, analysts running the rule over them. For example the boy Hardie at Plymouth is in the mix but his in-game stats aren't up to scratch. Link to comment

If the midfield aren't scoring goals, then we're fucked, because they're not coming from Dykes/Adams/Fiveheid. McGregor's injury coupled with McGinn's loss of form is causing us all kinds of problems. Hopefully we're getting all the shite performances oot our system now, and it'll all be good again come June.
