Grandpa
SAF would be right of course. Willie had a knack of ushering players out to the wings and killing the threat, when he did have to make a tackle his timing was superb and he was a great reader of the game. He carried the tache well, even if the mullet got a bit dodgy for a season or two. There was a great pic on here a while back with SAF on the pitch at Hampden with a lidless Scottish cup. Cool as you like and how I remember him. Link to comment

BaaBaaRedSheep
Played a good few games carrying an injury too. Never was afraid of a tackle, in and out of the box. In fact best penalty box defender I have ever seen. A credit to him that he remained with us throughout his career, could have performed well on higher stages. Finally he is absolutely correct to respond to Warnock's bitter comments. Warnock made an absolute arse of things and it is reasonable to call him out. Link to comment

And reverts back to the one on the retro Facebook page. Link to comment

Fergie always says he is one of the greatest (more specifically, penalty box) defenders he's ever seen. Hard to argue, he was a natural. The way he read the game was something you can't learn and can't teach, you've either got it or you haven't. 1 Link to comment

I'm from Northfield Brebner terrace but went to St Peter's RC school instead. But Northfield was a great area to be brought up in. I'm sure you will agree . Link to comment

alscotoz
Got a picture on my study wall of Mr Miller presenting me with champion street trophy before a game at pittodrie (assume he was injured). Black and white, but still makes me happy. Joe Harper was still my hero... shallow kid 😄 2 Link to comment
