I had a McIntosh of Strathmore Lorne, Beans and Tatties ready meal earlier today. Delicious it was as well. What bin should I put the (unrinsed) empty tray, and accompanying plastc film cover, which previously contained the lovely meal, in? Top - Orange lidded bin; Middle - Blue lidded bin, or; Bottom - Black wheelie bin. 🤔 You should rinse it out and put the component parts in the right bins. Hardly fucking difficult tbh. 1 Link to comment

I agree that, in the grand scheme of things, it makes a minuscule difference. Although, given that it's absolutely no effort to do it, I don't see why folk wouldn't? Hopefully just makes less waste buried in my country though. I'd have thought that'd be something we'd all give a fuck about. Link to comment
maryhilldon
Most of your attempts to recycle are pointless anyway, still ends up in landfill due to 'contamination' etc. I think most of the green sector is a job creation scheme for otherwise pointless uni graduates. 1 Link to comment

Can't face it. The best they can do is tie a knot, throw it in the street and go back to their inner turmoil Link to comment
Roberto
I recycle. I don't see the issue. Also have a new bin. Was such a joy. Link to comment

DeltaRay1903
Let's not beat about the bush. People who are meticulous in their disposal of household waste and recycling are for the watching. They definitely harbour fascistic tendencies. Link to comment

This implies our stocks of water are running low. So surely rinsing out food trays, cans, plastic bottles, etc. are (futile) acts against the advice of Scottish Water as, after all, our recycled waste is going into the back of a scaffie lorry, which is also used for the uplift and disposal of household waste, therefore the recycled waste will become contaminated upon contact with the surfaces of the lorry and be unfit for recycling thereafter?🤔   Link to comment

Matt Armstrong's Dog
I was watching TV-AM this morning and my ears perked up when one of their street reporters was discussing about Brighton Council's recycling policy being changed from 14 waste receptacles (WTF?!) to 3 bins. You can put paper, plastic, and cans altogether in one of their LA recycling bins but if you do that in Aberdeenshire, they will not uplift and dispose of the contents of your bin (fucking mink behaviour) and may be subject to a fine. This simply further emphasises how futile recycling really is. I just put a piece of cardboard (A McIntosh of Strathmore Haggis, Neeps, and Tatties ready meal sleeve) in the appropriate recycling bin in my backie but will this pointless act actually save the planet from fading into oblivion?🤔 Link to comment
