I thought he coped in general well yesterday with a wily physical rudden

I agree he wasn’t decisive when they got that great opportunity but he should learn from that

distribution was a step up from ruby ,first time I’ve seen him used in his preferred role
good potential

He done great to redeem his own howler. Be interesting to see him against better opposition.

Young lad with little experience - one or two mistakes are to be expected I guess. Thought he was decent enough overall yesterday. Uses the ball fairly well and more comfortable on it than most of our defenders. Rudden is a decent striker, so although it was lower league opposition he did have a decent test yesterday. He's probably as good as some of the forwards in the bottom six of the SPL. It'll be interesting to see if he gets more games - would expect Ruby will be back in as first choice though.

Was he not a centre mid coming through the academy and Goodwin decided he’d be a good CB given his height etc

One that maybe needed a loan last year to develop

Might be one who, if we could get a good club, might benefit from a loan to a championship team for a season? Definitely something there in my opinion.

Problem is he's first choice back up for right back so we can't let him out on loan. If he was only covering centre back then we'd have enough numbers to let him out for a bit.

Young lad who seems like he has the potential to step up if people are patient with him. Weirdly some people seem to think young players should come into the team and immediately be of the same standard as experienced pros.

Like that he is comfortable on the ball. Tackles well.  I know he made a mistake yesterday but generally his passing has been good. Some signs of a Jimmy type defender.

Good to see him get a game and used in his natural position.

Some managerial genuises would have moved Devlin to CB and played another out of position player at RB.

Hopefully he can get a few more appearances this season and develop into a decent player for us.

I think he'd do well as RCB with Ruby CB stopper and Molloy LCB as both of them are decent with the ball and stepping out of defense.

Would allow Morris to play his best position RWB 😂

We're not going to do that 352 or 532 pish that fucked over last season I hope.

Fair size of loon.  Might just be me, but would he not do a lot better taking up the near post on "attacking" corners rather than the back?  More chance of either A) getting a header at goal or B) knocking it on for someone at the back.  He looked like he was by far the tallest player in the box at the weekend.

Yes, he was a midfielder throughout the academy and I actually don't think he is cover for Ruby - MacDonald is - but Angus has been recovering from his operation and wasn't ready to start the QP game. Milne is cover for Devlin and when he has been played in that position or RM he has not let us down.

Incidentally, nobody has mentioned that it was Milne himself who made up for his short pass back but getting back to save the shot on the line.

Wasn’t at the game so can’t comment on how he played, he did make a bit of a mistake allowing Rudden to get the ball

Could be another Ross McCrorie in the sense can play multiple positions

JT said he sees Milne as a central defender.
Not sure if that means he’ll be looking for a RB, or whether he’s happy to have Milne cover that.

We can’t fix all the wrongs with the squad in one window.

Some will have to wait.

He’s at an age when he should have played a decent level of 1st team games, but especially these last 12 months, he’s barely played any minutes at any level.

A loan to a good championship team is in order, I think

McCrorie could definitely play multiple positions but Milne just seems like he's a centre half
