glasgow sheep
FFS I thought you two were taking the piss: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/scotland/6705941.stm SFA wants Smith as chief execBBC Scotland understands that the SFA is close to appointing Gordon Smith as their new chief executive. The former Rangers forward is BBC Scotland's main football pundit and also owns a players' agency. Smith, aged 53, is currently working as a players' agent and football pundit for BBC Scotland and looks set to replace the outgoing David Taylor. The decision to appoint Smith should be confirmed at a meeting of the SFA Board at Hampden Park in Glasgow on Friday. The decision to appoint a former player and pundit could surprise many inside and outside Scottish Football. Smith played for Kilmarnock and Rangers and had a brief spell in management with St Mirren between 1990 and 1993, but is better known as a regular voice on BBC Scotland's football programmes Sportsound and Sportscene. He will take over from David Taylor, who has taken up the post of general secretary of Uefa. The SFA chief executive job oversees the development of the game in Scotland, disciplinary matters and the orgainsation of the national side. Smith will also be involved in the hiring and firing of future Scotland managers. Link to comment

Conflict of interest, no? Surely they would make it a prerequisite of his appointment that he gave up being an agent. It would be a bloody disgrace otherwise. Link to comment
