To be fair, it looked better the second they managed to find someone stupid enough to take Titus Bramble.

 

Good signing though, and this Czech guy Rozental they've also brought in is meant to be very useful too.

with the signings so far with the squad that he has got, dare i say Newcastle might finish 5th or 6th

I think Newcastle will be in the top 10 easily this season, as mentioned their defence looks decent now and that is a great signing in Geremi. Always rated him just never really got a chance at Chelsea due to their millions, he was great at Boro.

 

If they can hang on to Martins and Owen stays fit during the season then there is no reason why they can't fight for a Uefa Cup place. Allardyce is a great manager, wonder if he will implement his long ball tactics at Newcastle though.
