Ernie McCracken
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/i...als/6939335.stm So McLeish has no doubts about Miller eh? Well he f*cking should have!!! Link to comment
paulkaneatemyhamster
if a player isn't playing then he shouldn't get a game for Scotland i think for him , he should leave Celtic Link to comment
vanderark14
i read this yesterday. its not the fact he isnt playing, darren fletcher and james mcfadden dont play all of the time for their clubs but always do well for scotland. the front pairing IMO should be o'connor and mcfadden. Madbad
Remember McLeish has been "tainted" by the of and is now "part" of the SFA so he HAS to make favourable coments and keep picking of players. I can see Whittaker, Gow, Broadfoot etc getting caps now, can't you? Link to comment

BTR
Miller was absolutely appalling at the Georgia game, surely he can't start against Lithuania. Got to be O'Connor and one from Boyd, McFadden or a.n.other Link to comment
cgs1706
McLeish has only said he's still in his thoughts, not that he's starting... I doubt he will start if he's not been playing for Celtic... Link to comment

Dandyjam
no you pick the best player and anyone with more than one brain cell can tell hutton is dubz. Although Hutton's form was ok towards the end of last season, it was still a joke that he was capped for Scotland because of a few good games for the Huns. But I doubt he'll get any more caps as Whittaker will be Huns first choice right back and no doubt Eck will give him an instant recall. (and maybe even a start) Link to comment
paulkaneatemyhamster
no you pick the best player and anyone with more than one brain cell can tell hutton is dubz. then if he is the better player, why is Micheal Hart not at rangers , Celtic or playing in England ?? could it be that outside the AFC support Hart isn't rated at all ? Contrast this with Scott Severing who is almost always in the squad and is a player many fans of "lesser" SPL clubs would love in their team, where as here he is the subject of a great deal of criticism . As for the scotland right back slot, i wouldn't have Hart in there either - and i'm not even sure he's the best right back at Pittodrie there days. - though he's still a decent player. Although Hutton's form was ok towards the end of last season, it was still a joke that he was capped for Scotland because of a few good games for the Huns. But I doubt he'll get any more caps as Whittaker will be Huns first choice right back and no doubt Eck will give him an instant recall. (and maybe even a start) if AFC had been playing regulary in European football and had been anything than relgation fodder for most of Harts career with the club, i reckon Hart would be up there with Neilson & Wilson, maybe Whittikar I think all but the most blind & biased dons fans can see why the likes of Anderson & Hart aren't picked for Scotland Link to comment

BTR
what a pile of sh*t you talk mate. Play nice. RB is quickly turning into a problem position for Scotland. There are no players who have comfortably filled (or are likely to in the near future) that Jackie McNamara-shaped void, perhaps hence why Jackie himself has been included in the last couple of squads. paulkaneatemyhamster
what a pile of sh*t you talk mate. why ? take off your red tinted specs for a sec, it's clear why lads like Hart & Anderson don't get a regular game no european experience and playing for a midtable/relegation troubled side is hardly looking good for a International player Link to comment
JimmyJimmy
I'd argue that getting a regular game for a 3rd/4th placed SPL side is far better experience than warming the bench for the top 1 or 2 teams, and only really getting a run out in the reserves. Just because a player plays for a certain club or in a certain league doesn't always necessarily relate to their ability to perform at international level. then if he is the better player, why is Micheal Hart not at rangers , Celtic or playing in England ?? Tsk, tsk, careful here. Since when did the best players in the league play for the OF? Until recently, Craig Gordon was a goalkeeper in the team that finished 4th place in last seasons SPL, yet he didn't play for Rangers, or Celtic or in the EPL yet he was still 1st choice for Scotland (and rightly so). I'm not going to argue whether I think Hart should be in the Scotland squad, because its all about opinions and only the opinion of one man counts. I think the main gripe that folk have here is that being part of the OF is usually an automatic entry into the Scotland setup, something that is not necessarily in the best interests of our national team. But IF not playing for his club should not play for his country!! Link to comment

I think Miller and O'Connor are too similar to play together and O'Connor has been doing the business (in the last 2 Internationals at least) Never thought it when I made the last post but Maloney playing off O'Connor as a support striker could work solid against Ukraine.
