CoveBaySheep
Have to say i have been glued to the Bundesliga on a Friday the last couple of weeks and have to say its top quality entertainment. tonights game Bochum vs Hamburg was a perfect example of the season so far, 3 goals, a lot of chances, a red card and a load of booking. very physical high energy football. The atmosphere in the stadiums is also somethin else (Mark mcghee said something about their attendances being so high because ticket prices are amongst the lowest in Europe) similar reports for Stuggart- Schalke and Hanover 96 - (Cant remember who they played) games. so if your stuck in like me on a friday night give it ago. Guest CAPSLOCK
LOW GATE PRICES AND A BIT OF A REVOLUTION IN THE FACT THAT THE 'BIG TEAMS' ARE STRUGGLING A LITTLE (IN THEIR TERMS). COUPLE THAT WITH BEING ABLE TO GET A BEER AT THE GAME AND A FEW OF THE STANDS ARE TERRACED IT NODS TOWARDS SCOTTISH FOOTBALL FAN FOLKLORE. BUT I JUST CAN'T GET INTO IT PASSION-WISE. I ENJOY THE FOOTBALL BUT LOOK AT THE FANS ON EITHER SIDE AND FEEL ENVIOUS. ABERDEEN'S MY TEAM AND I JUST CAN'T CONNECT WITH ANY OTHER TEAM EMOTIONALLY. BEERS AT THE GAME THOUGH... GOOD DAY OOT. paulkaneatemyhamster
Germany & German football is excellent the bundesliga has some great football and due to having the majority of players being German it keeps the fans close and benefits the national side also the stadia are packed, low prices, good views, good entertainment - who would have thought it ? may not have the stars of the premiership but maybe if the ENglish took the german model of major league full of english players and top players experted around the world, the english would have a team worth shouting about, rather than clinging on to the past Germany/West Germany 3 world cups4 runners up3 semi finals 3 European Championships2 runners up 1 semi final Europes best national team ??? you betcha. Also I read somewhere a while back that not only are the tickets cheap, but a valid ticket provides you with free public transport to and from the game. The organisation of the whole thing is (unsurprisingly ) very good. Link to comment
stonefish100
Been watching more and more German fitba lately and I have to say it is top notch! Full stadiums all round and great football. Easily knocks the sh*t out of French fitba and I would say is now challenging Italy as the 3rd biggest/best league in Europe. Magic stuff I'd love to see some young scots heading across there to improve their game a la Paul Lambert instead of gan down south or to the OF, the physical but skillful fitba they play would benefit them massively. Nespa
watched the Schalke game on Frid and was impressed! very similar style to the Premiership with a cracking atmosphere! ...Lovenkranz is still sh*t!!! Link to comment
At The Border Guy
Have been considering a trip to the new Bayern Munich ground - One of the only stadiums in living memory to be built with a good atmosphere in mind! The organisation sounds superb too. Can't say I'm an expert on German football though (live-footy.org doesn't seem to work now that I use Microsoft Vista). How much is a ticket on average? Been keeping an eye on the Scandinavian leagues recently. 3 or 4 matches to go in Sweden and still quite a few teams who can win. Glad to see Brann a couple of wins away from a title in Norway too. NorthernLights24
Easily knocks the sh*t out of French fitba I've tried watching French league football when it was Channel 4 at night, turned over after 20 minutes. Dull, dull, dull. Link to comment
Dynamo
German football is the bollox. They know how to do it. Cheap tickets, standing/signing sections for those that want too, beer, huge crowds (home and away). Would love to go over for a game actually. Link to comment
foolsgold 9.53
We could learn a lot from german football, both the footballing authorities and the fans. Link to comment

Sharpie
I went to Hertha v Leverkusen toward the end of last season and whilst the fans made a lot of noise the atmosphere still seemed to be a bit sterile. Everything seems to be premeditated and too perfect. We did have a Hertha nutjob trying to goad us in to a fight during the second half to keep us entertained. Link to comment
