simon
as the financial sphere predominates all others and clubs are increasingly run under the logic of business economics -in the english game especially- , when does a football 'club' cease to exist? it could be: when supporters have a minority share or no substantial control; when the name is changed; when there are no players; when they are declared bankrupt and their league contract terminated...... discuss..... i feel more clubs should reject the franchise model and form new clubs controlled by the fans e.g man utd. obviously in the current climate this is unviable and utopian but if more fans resisted....?
