Retribution Liam Neeson is unconvincing in a bog standard "bomb under car seat so canny get oot" type thriller. Disappointing. Suitable Flesh Absolutely no idea what they were trying to do with this. Maybe making the thing "in the style of" something or other but I can't be arsed looking it up. Some kind of ancient curse not well explained with a spirit that can move from body to body after it chants something indecipherable. Think its a horror or maybe you're meant to laugh fuck knows. TBH half the time it looked and sounded like a soft porn movie from the 70s. I just thought it was boring. Liam Neeson hasn't half been in some shite movies Link to comment

If its a horror its no scary, neither is it gory, the story was unengaging as were the characters, I didn't enjoy the way it was told nor how it was shot/edited/directed. Hell House? Found footage not my thing really so not seen any of them. If I got the wrong gist of your post well you could have elaborated. horrors - lol Link to comment

Yeah that one is nuts. I was expecting a comedy due to Steve Carell being in it, but it's strange and insidious. Have you seen, I,Tonya, with Margot Robbie, another real life story about that champion figure skater, Tonya Harding? 1 Link to comment

GAME OF BILLIONS
Killers of the Flower Moon is deeply powerful. Tragic story. It's a real slow-burner at 208 minutes, but it needs to be. 1920s Oklahoma seeps into your bones. First-rate powerhouse acting and filmmaking all round. Not a fun movie, though, I won't be watching it again. Scorsese and DiCaprio are going to make another true story in the future: The Wager: A Tale of Shipwreck, Mutiny and Murder. If you like Harold & Maude, Dead Poet's Society, films about teachers and pupils, 1970s oddball movies, then check out, The Holdovers. Set in the winter of 1970/71 in New England, it's about these pupils who have to stay or "holdover" in the school over Crimbo with their pompous teacher, played by the great Paul Giamatti (Cinderella Man). Jigsaw666
Napoleon Been swithering on whether or not to go to this given its length but relented tonight. The general opinion seems to be battle scenes great / Josephine parts not so. That's pretty much it tbh. That said, overall I enjoyed it. 1 Link to comment

I remember hearing about this movie 12 years ago it must have been, known as Kitbag back then as it used to be said that there was a general's staff hidden in every soldier's kitbag, ie. every soldier has the potential to be a great victor, leader. Then I saw the trailers for Napoleon and thought, "oh shit, this looks inaccurate, silly and rushed." Napoleon experts say it's a joke, a dumb as fuck insult, even I can tell that from the clips. Ridley Scott is a massive arrogant cunt, he shits on everyone, has "his vision" and that as been a mixed bag over the past 45 years. His first film, The Duellists (1977) is a great film, set in Napoleonic Europe over 15 years, it's about two men who fight a series of duels to the death. You can't tell Napoleon's life in 150 minutes. It would take 10 TV series at least. It just looks bad. Waterloo (1970) is a good film. Full movie is on YT... Link to comment

I'd heard Napoleon was far from accurate beforehand, didn't bother me. I don't have a great interest in his life story, just wanted to see a movie. They say the battle scenes are expansive and that's true, Kermode said very gory but I thought in that respect it was fairly tame. It portrays most of the European leaders at the time as a bunch of twats not just Napoleon. Overall I think you're correct in saying that to cover his life properly it needs a series as the movie does move from conquest to conquest to eventual defeat without much depth however as a visual spectacle it is a good view.
