Jocky Balboa
Interesting take on Beverly Hills Cop 4 from The Critical Drinker, but I'm not sure I agree with him this time: I personally found it a disappointment and The Message (TM) creeps in; he's been recast as a deadbeat dad, schooled and shamed by a big, strong, independent boss bitch woman. Other than that, the old supporting cast are going through the motions. Β Link to comment
Jocky Balboa
Just watched Glass last night. No faulting James McAvoy and his performance, but I don't think it's anywhere near as good as Unbreakable. Link to comment

Jocky Balboa
Took my kids to see Twisters at the weekend. Better than I was expecting, albeit still full of American film clichΓ©s... Dodgy science. Cowboy alpha male upsets intellectual, big, strong, independent modern boss babe. Alpha proceeds to charm said lady. They go on a daring adventure together. Alpha gets the girl. The end. Despite that, it was enjoyable enough.Β Link to comment

Clydeside_Sheep
What are our thoughts relating to "Alien: Romulus" which is out this weekend? I tend to think that the films are all shit and forgettable, expect the first two which were excellent. I think the last one I saw was Prometheus (?) and I have just learned it has its own sequel. Romulus is (I understand) a stand alone movie, set after the original film (?). So, will this be another desecration of what was once a golden franchise, or a pearl among the dung heap of the latter films? Β Β Link to comment
