I tend to think that the films are all shit and forgettable, expect the first two which were excellent.

I think the last one I saw was Prometheus (?) and I have just learned it has its own sequel.

Romulus is (I understand) a stand alone movie, set after the original film (?).

So, will this be another desecration of what was once a golden franchise, or a pearl among the dung heap of the latter films?

 

 

You need to stretch the imagination somewhat but overall it's comfortably the best since the first two - which basically means it gets pass marks. A plethora of nods to the original Alien and Aliens to the extent that much of the plot becomes somewhat familiar. As a popcorner it's decent enough but will never be a classic or such.

Yes Aliens is fantastic. The series would always struggle to live up to that but some of the latter films were honking.
