Sadly those days are gone for a lot of players. Money is a more motivating factor these days for players.

Where as if you gave any ordinary fan who dreamed of playing professional football the oppertunity to play for Scotland. They'd walk over broken glass to do it.

I'd tend to agree. Burley is a proven manager with decent credentials... however, there is definitely something fishy going on behind the scenes. The press' apparent hatred of Burley is very odd indeed - he's been given less time than even Bertie McVogts. Do they know something we don't?

 

If we don't win tonight, I'm really not sure where we go from here. Start building for the next Euros with Burley or gamble on another new manager?

A world-class goalkeeper, a solid defence, a solid if unspectacular midfield and a forward line consisting of a temperamental genius and a headless half-wit should have been enough to beat Macedonia. Indeed after the break we proved just how average Macedonia were, simply by actually playing the game higher up the park.
