friedbergdvah
ah...harsh reading for the BDO! Also yea now you mention it I think BDO only use first 9 darts as an average which is a pretty ridic way of doing it. Link to comment

And if you look at the averages of both the PDC and BDO WC finals over the years, Apart from Taylor there is very little difference. PDC World Championship Final averages BDO World championship Final averages No the averages i showed are over all , Not the first 9 darts , If that was the case they would be well over 100+ Also an onther intersting fact - Highest average of the 8 players in the semin finals in both divisions was Phil Taylor, followed by Ted Hankey and then Barney. The two lowest averages were those of Merv King and James Wade. The BDO averages were very close in both games with the widest gap being 1.36 in the Hankey V Adams match. In the PDC semi finals one was very one sided with an average difference of 14.18 whilst the other was closer at 4.38. This just goes to show that the gap between the two organisations is negligable. Its the media who make out its a gap and some people on here who are silly enough to fall for the hype of Hearn,Harrington and Twaddell. Also , Number of 100 plus scores in the finals. PDC 183. BDO 256 , This of course can mean that there was much more sets in the combined 1/2 and final of the BDO. Link to comment

And from that page 7men have had over 100 averages (even with untrue averages) and of them Barney, King and Mason are now in PDC so bit silly trying to use that in arguement. Also an onther intersting fact - Highest average of the 8 players in the semin finals in both divisions was Phil Taylor, followed by Ted Hankey and then Barney. In arguements sake you could say Barneys 3 dart average was inflated in the final as he had so little darts at the double. Anyway, Here is a chart of both the PDC and PDO over 24 months 1/1/2007 - 1/1/2009 of all recorded 3 dart averages. PDC + BDO over all averages 2007 - 2009 Link to comment

Nowadays the PDC pisses all over the BDO whereas a few years ago it was much mcuh closer but all the top BDO players have joined PDC. How much of the PDC players started off in the BDO , Nearly them all, Its just the nature of the game, Good quality players move up through the ranks in the BDO then are tempted to join the professional circut. Just look in the last few couple of years , King , Klassen , Thornton and Barney came over.(Plus MVG + VVDV )3 of them are now in the premier league and Thornton won the new comer of the year award last week. The Grand Slam of Darts this year showed the BDO can more than match the PDC Anderson , Fitton ,and Witlock all making the 1/4 and 1/2 finals. Its just my opinion that the BDO will always have a conyevor belt of talent coming through. They service the whole of the UK and that includes the pub teams that you and i play in. The PDC is certainly where the money is but the BDO is where it all starts for them. Link to comment

Few years ago pretty similar standard overall but now BDO pretty much feeder association for the PDC. Link to comment

Stone absorbs dampness / sweat so in theory the grip and release should be that much better. All down to preference but im very happy with them. Link to comment
