centraldon
Gerrard assaulted the Madrid boy FFS. Probably a yellow card from him. What was the linesman thinking? Link to comment
paulkaneatemyhamster
NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER in a gabillion years is that a penalty shocking descion the ref's a total homer in that instance Gerrard jumps into the defender, in a attempt to take out the defender. how is that a penalty ? Gerrard was just on ITV being interviewed, he said " if its outside the box its a freekick so why should it be any different in the box?" your absolutely right Stevie - a freekick AGAINST YOU wherever it was on the pitch. twat. johnstrac
Shame that pool weren't playing away, at least then we'd have the consolation of Gerrard being robbed. Link to comment

Sonoftherock
Worst decision of the night was Decos sending off. Surely taking a free kick too quickly isn't a bookable offence? Link to comment

Not seen the Gerrard penalty incident yet as was watching the Roma v Chelsea game. As you say a terrible decision to book him thus send him off. Unless the ref told him to wait of course but I wouldn't of thought so. Link to comment

kennymac
Did Gerrard head the ball before the defender touched him?At first i thought no but when i looked at the replay a few times yes he did get to the ball first,it was a soft penalty,he did manage to con the ref so a goal is a goal. Guest rocket_scientist
How can anyone accuse him of cheating? Bizarre interpretation. He didn't put his hand up for a pen. He got given one. It was soft as hell, but it was the linesman who gave it instantly. How can Gerrard take any blame for the official's mistake. It was a challenge, they both fell over as there was a solid enough contact, but there was no dive or attempt to cheat. Link to comment

Shocking decision by the linesman but as RS says Gerrard benefitted from the decision but didn't do anything to suggest he was cheating. The commentator described it as 'soft' - there's a ***kin' understatement! Link to comment

Dunno how these people can get away with this b*llshit when it is there in glorious colour right in front of everyone. Link to comment

fatshaft
hope the english media hang him out to dry a cheat of the highest orderNot a chance, frigging golden boy. They never ever have a go at the English divers, they even trumpeted up when (Torres I think) came out telling everyone about how his glorious captain had told the Liverpool players not to dive, 'it's not how we do it in Englan'. The frigging hypocritical diving cheating b*stard. Link to comment

Much like the decisions united get against celtic bolton and many more. The amount of attention Liverpool get on this board is incredible! Some jealousy on this forum!! Link to comment

So Gerrard got to the ball first, played it, then was barged by the defender? (even if it was accidental from the defender) Imagine the ball had been on the ground. Gerrard got it it first with his foot, then was barged/tripped whether accidentally or not by an opposition player. Would that be a free-kick/penalty? Link to comment
