The Gaffer said we can expect two more signings, which is good because I think we need two more signings.

 

What positions do you think are now priority?

 

I am aware we lost Smith at left back but between The Captain, Robertson, McArdle and Clark we have the two fullback slots covered.

 

For me it's an attacking left winger and a striker. Now Aluko could have a change of heart which would be fine by me, but I can't see it as he'll get a gig as a squad player down south. Pawlly will be our right winger this year but we have no-one on the left in the squad.

 

Mr Brown says he could manage fine with the strikers he's got but that's just another but if psychology to keep our current lots chests out. Not so sure a player that can beat a man is the criteria, for me it's a guy like Dodds, a natural goal poacher.

What is it with our fans being unable to spell 'signings' these days?

 

Small wonder we cannot attract players to the club when our supporters wouldna know a 'signing' if it hit them right between the eyes.

 

They're too busy bursting into song, led by Jazzer here, because they thought Brown had asked for two more 'singings'.

If we have decent FB cover (which we don't yet) I don't think Robertson or Jack will play too many games. We have more in central midfield now so won't need Jack so much there.

IMO before the end of the transfer window we need 4 new players.

 

a back-up goalkeeper

another full back

a left winger

another CB

 

We have 5 strikers training with the first team at the moment and until that changes I don't think we can afford to take in another one as recruiting players for other positions should remain the priority with our limited funds.

 

Don't think we need another right winger either. Clark and Pawlett regard it as their natural position and folly can also provide cover there if need be. LW must remain the priority.

 

Not many people seem to think we need another centre-back before the start of the season and I don't think we've had any natural central defender's on trial so far. That's worrying as we only have three experienced central defenders, all of whom have had serious injuries in the last two seasons, and with the inevitable suspensions that they'll incur during the season we could find ourselves having to rely on shugnessey.

IF it is just to be two, then one of them has to be a back up keeper as Langfield is unavailable for a long time, and the other keepers have been released.

We cant possibly have only Gonzales as our only keeper until October at the earliest.

That just leaves one signing.

It's a toss up between left midfield and striker for me.

 

Ideally another left back would be signed, but as Jazzer said, I suppose Robertson, Foster & Clark can cover the left, and Foster, McArdle & Jack the right.

 

So that leaves left mid - Pawlett is poor there, even though Brown plays him there. That just leaves Clark?

 

Striker - Despite Mackie's decent start, I think we need another striker to partner Vernon, with Mackie as a handy sub.

 

So I'd say a back up keeper....and a striker.

 

Left mid will just have to be filled in with a square peg in a round hole for now.

And in my albeit limited experience of your posts, I credited you with more sense than to come away with this kind of drivel.

 

Let the man get on with his job, he's building a football team, not pandering to the sensibilities of individual supporters.

 

When that team goes on the park, in competitive games, judge him. Not now.

GK - Gonzalez, need a back up

RB- Foster, McArdle, Clark, Osbourne, Jack

CB- Mawene, Considine, McArdle, Shaugnessy

LB- Foster, Considine, Clark, Robertson

CM- Fyvie, Milsom, Folly, Osbourne, Jack, Clark

RM, Pawlett, Clark, Jack, Foster, Mackie, Magennis

LM- Aluko? Clark, Milsom, Foster, Paton

ST- Vernon, Mackie, Magennis, Paton

 

Cover at full back, centre back and on the wings is poor.

1 LB, 1 CB, 1GK, 1 Winger at least! 6 is really the number needed.

Its called a f**king iPhone, and it has a mind of it's own.

 

Dynamo, VDA and especially Tommy-you miss the point I'm making. Of course a frikken ken we need 4 more boys in but I'm reiterating what Mr B is saying and that is that there is room for two more.

 

So I'm only asking, if you could only get two more in, what positions would you look to prioritise?
