not where i come from it isnt.

hating thatcher, or any particular individual politicain, is for lifes losers, those who seek to blame someobne else for all their ills.

she was a prime minister, doing a tough job, a job that 99% of the uk population are unable or unwilling to do.

to hate her is to fill the void in your life caused by your own inadequacies.

You clearly don't know what you are talking about or are too young to remember what she did to this country.

Well said Bluto, the 80,s were the best and a lot of that was down to Maggie, those too young to know better just listen to the likes of the mad socialists, she's a great lady who did a brilliant job after the shambles of the Labour 70's, 3 day weeks, rubbish uncollected, strikes every other week. She also went to war against the argies, the unions and the IRA and won all 3, the Iron lady was magic.

Yes mainly down to her destroying industries and putting millions on the dole.

Even when Labour came in in 1997 that was a continuation of the Thatcherite policies. The only way Labour could win was to move to the centre right as the tories moved further to the right.

Once again we have the tories and it is still the legacy of Thatcher which has left this country in a state.

I know her dying won't change much but I have a surplus of bunting I need to use for a street party and her snuffing it is a good enough reason to party in my book.

How can this be so ? Their mismanagement has a direct impact on every individual . Her doctrine tried to destroy any semblance of community .She led the assault on the working class to increase capital profits .In the process she wrecked the lives of millions while showering wealth on businessmen and bankers. She presided over a huge shift in wealth from the poor to the rich. The rich rejoiced at huge tax breaks while the numbers of people living in poverty reached unprecedented levels. The number below the poverty line soared from 9 percent of the population in 1979 to 23 percent by the early 1990s. Cuts, clousures, slashing welfare, soaring unemployment(( not seen since the 30s.Unemployment rose by 250% which was welcomed as it demoralised the workers and weakend the unions ) , poll tax, draconian anti-union laws etc ........

she did exactly what was needed at the time.

i know that may not sit well with youre finger pointing but even in a country like britian sacrifices need to be made from time to time.

she did what was necessary for the good of the country.

end of story.

ive lived through the thatcher years and i feel lucky to be born in a prosperous country and enjoy the fruits of its labour, like university, health care etc.
