That side of 1992-93 and 1993-94 played some of the best football in our history, yet inexplicably ended up trophy less. 1 Link to comment
Zeus
92-93 side would win the league by about 20 points nowadays. Fucking terrific side. 3 Link to comment

Agree with you there i just wonder if the kids of the 2010s will grow up to tell tales of the great Adam Rooney to the youth of the 2030s/40s ! Great goal scoring record and as many medals as Shearer, sadly Link to comment

Sadly, history has largely forgotten about the team of those two seasons, but we were only bested by a Hun side that first of all, went unbeaten in Europe (including home and away against the eventual winners) and were 90mins away from the Champions League final. The following season, we were a whisker away from knocking Torino (then one of Italy's top 3 sides) out of Europe, after being ahead in both legs, whilst chalking up the most away league wins in Britain. A great attacking side, once again bested only by a high-spending Hun team. In the post-2000 climate of Scottish football, the team we had those two seasons would win the SPL and several trophies, perhaps even be Champions League group regulars. Link to comment

Don't think Rooney would still have been as consistent as Shearer was. Link to comment
