ericblack4boss
i would say that the yanks are probably due a win, and i'd rather they won in thier own back yard than in ours Link to comment
ericblack4boss
i reckon Westwood would be paired up with Donald, Lawrie and Colsearts, Garcia and Poulter, theyb would be three nailed on for me but i have every faith in olly the man is true class, just finished reading mark James book about the Ryder cup in Brookline, they dignity, and humility that Olly exuded in the wake of the antics by the crowd and Us team only reinfored what i already thougt, Olazabal is a gentleman, and deserves to be successful, provided we win i would like to see olly continue at Gleneagles. Dynamo
Fancy Lawrie to take any of the yanks. 28/1 is worth a few quid! Link to comment
fatshaft
US team is as strong as I can remember, and great value even at the price they are now. Agree on Lawrie at the price being a great bet, on the US side, Snedeker & Bradley are outsiders, yet as strong as anyone in the team at the moment, so also worth a punt. Link to comment
fatshaft
I understand that view and I understand them being bookies favourites. However, the European team has strength of character and great experience. Colsaerts isn't the type of character to be intimidated either. These yanks are all beatable. Olly MUST leave Kaymer out in the foursomes. It would wreck team morale if four guys are sitting on the sidelines behind him. If his strategy is to play everyone on day one, it can only be the fourballs where he plays him. I think Westwood will star and I expect McIlroy to rack up a heap of points too. GMac is hot and cold at the moment and Donald needs to be paired with someone strong. Poulter is ace but he's Justin's mate. I would put him with Donald. I would play Lawrie and Colsaerts together for all four matches, unless it's not working but I think they can destroy any US pairing.I heard the other day that players who play all four matches, along with those who play none at all, are least likely to win their final day singles matches, one becuase they are too tired, the other because they are unprepared. Geoff_Tipps
USA will comfortably win it. Link to comment
Dynamo
Here's why it's such a good value bet in my book, and betting is ONLY about getting value. The bookies reckon that at 43, he ain't playing every session and Rors or Westwood will be favourites. But if the captain does his job properly, he can not not play Lawrie, the man in form and when he wins, he should keep on picking him until he doesn't. Just had a look and he's 60/1 on skybet to be top points scorer. Not sure what happens in way of a tie? Link to comment

Sandafc
Mate of mine pointed out that Donald and Garcia should be an automatic pairing in the foursomes given their record previously. In 2004 and 2006, they played together four times and won four. Donald didn't play 2008 and no Garcia in 2010. Yup definately... Sergio has an awesome foresomes record and they are big mates. I see McIroy likes the sound of him being partner for Garcia in fourballs... Awesome team, gets my vote. Link to comment
rgudon
Predicted First Day Foursomes Pairings: Donald/GarciaMcilroy/GmacRose/PoulterWestwood/Lawrie Going by practice could swap garcia and westwood. Then again not sure if two cold putters shold be together (sorry Paul...), cant afford cold putters in the foursomes. Link to comment
