A professional footballer who refuses autographs to kids and smokes 20 cigarettes a day is a despicable specimen of a man in my eyes. He's supposed to be a role model for kids and someone to aspire to. To refuse kids autographs and have a smoking habit is quite frankly a disgrace. Am I reading this right. Darren Mackie has signed for a team called Pheonix FC, who do not have a stadium and who cannot be promoted from the league they are currently in?What a cracking career move. Link to comment

Had a fair old belly on him at the start of last season, iirc. I think the laddie was just winding down. Change was in the air, and 110% effort with 10% talent wasn't going to cut it.
