Tord31
you half wonder if all the delay with the tribunal was the judges going back to the drawing board and improvising for the greater good. Club off hook. Players must pay up. Link to comment
vanderark14
Why are the sevconians saying there is no case to answer? probably because the new club will not have to pay anything Link to comment
E-P-K
Scotland correspondent for BBC News James Cook on Twitter: "Tribunal: 'payments are loans, not earnings, and so are recoverable from the employee or his estate.' Tribunal finds a loan scheme used by Rangers to reward some players and staff over nearly a decade was not in breach of tax law." Link to comment
tup
So I wonder how some of these lads will feel about the huns and their glory years of 9 in a row when they get hit with the mother of all demands from HMRC? Might taint the memories somewhat. Basically, the huns duped their employees and left them wide open. Link to comment
E-P-K
A tax tribunal has ruled that payments made to some Rangers players through trusts were loans and any bill is likely to be "substantially reduced" from the initial Link to comment
vanderark14
Mikeyboy you have been quite accurate with everything so far. Can you put whats happened in simple terms, as in are the ex hun players and directors fucked and did the hun bastards cheat? what if an ex hun could show that the former club stated the money did not have to be paid back? tup
It looks like they're off the hook basically, according to that. However, they liquidated, so regardless of liability or otherwise, they are no longer Glasgow Rangers FC. Link to comment

Can you put whats happened in simple terms, as in are the ex hun players and directors fucked and did the hun bastards cheat? what if an ex hun could show that the former club stated the money did not have to be paid back? None of the 3 people that were looking into the case could come to the conclusion, It seems that on separate issues the 3 of the couldn't even come to a decision ( From what I'm told ) There are Players and Directors that used it not to pay tax, Looks like the old club (deceased) wont be liable but all those who gained are about to be bummed royally by HMRC "Rangers could have sought a ruling from the SFA or SPL about disclosure of side-letters but, clearly, they had chosen not to do so. There was a conscious decision to conceal their existence"......oops ! Link to comment
vanderark14
my understanding at the moment is that they didn't cheat with the use of EBT's but they might get fucked for the dual contracts still. If it is the case that they did not cheat then it makes it even fucking funnier that they were flushed away Link to comment

vanderark14
Unbelievable - how can that judgment be possible? What about the "side letters"? Rangers Tax Result Para 161 p38: Side-letters, of course, had not been registered with the football authorities, the SFA and SPL. The spirit of their rules was that the whole contract terms should be registered. Suspiciously, no evidence was led as to who decided that the benefits in terms of the side-letters should not be registered. Non-registration of side-letters was incompatible with both authorities Link to comment
Mikeyboy1903
could they have avoided liquidation had they known this earlier? please say yes Okay I'll say yes ... BUT The club was losing a Million a month, Had debts that couldn't have been paid back, The bank was asking to recall money back in ... Basically they couldn't have survived anyway ...... ALSO It begs the question.... Why did Murray do an offski as soon as he did ! Link to comment
