It Doesn't Matter Who The Next Manager Is,

Recommended Posts

Who will be the new manager of our once great club is irrelevant imo, it will end in exactly the same manner as our last few appointments have.....i.e abject failure. The job is a poisoned chalice.

The club is rotten to the core, only a new broom and a complete boardroom clearance will change anything, Milne has to go, I don't know where the money will come to to oust him but while he's here you could put Fergie in charge and you'd get the same results. While servicing a huge debt that he created we're going nowhere, he knows it and doesn't care, we need someone who does.

This city is full of mega rich people and companies but while Milne is in charge we'll never attract any of them to invest real amounts of money, get him gone and we can start rebuilding.

Even looking beyond the money aspect; what club in the World would go out of their way to treat the most vocal and loyal fans (The red ultra's) the way our club did, as I said, poison to the core, packed with self interested tossers.

Negativity abounds around Pittodrie, players pick up wages and the hardcore still turn up but the real fight and ambition we used to have has long gone.

Chris Anderson will be spinning in his grave.

Big problems upstairs with mentality right from top a shambles but completely disagree about new manager. Any semi competent manager should be able to put together an even half decent squad in two years and have us challenging at right end of a poor league, despite what is happening above then at the club.

But the negativity within the club is coming from the core, no one cares, we're a bottom 6 club right now and as long as we stay in the league that's good enough for the board and management. The fans are the only people who think we should be doing better.

A quick look at our recent history tells you the fans are deluded if they think this club are forward thinking and really want to succeed.

Ryan Fraser was a breath of fresh air, would he have left a real progressive club who'd made him a great offer at his age??

He left his home team club, the club he supported as a lad, former European cup winners cup winners, the Famous Aberdeen to go to.....Bournemouth.

If anyone doesn't think that's fucked up they don't know what they're speaking about.

Our club is a cesspit.

Looking at ambitions of AFC and Bournemouth, then looking at training facilities of both clubs and with money on top of that for me no surprise at all any good young talent would want to leave and progress elsewhere. But not so sure money is the biggest factor in lots of these cases. Certainly will be for many but overall picture is bleak for us at moment with 0 facilities and no step between youth football played on public parks and first team football.

The fans should beg Jim Cummings to return.

Done a bit of googling of your man Cummings, seems the last he was heard of was in 2010, bbc sport interview, pretty much agreed with everything he said.

Incidentally I know a fairly wealthy 50 club member and his comments pretty much echo what you say, nobody would invest with Milne still their, if he fuked off tomorrow there would be plenty of folk coming out the woodwork.

People go on about Aberdeen fans having delusions of grandure but I don't see that, what I see is a club who come from a city with nearly a quarter of a million people living in it, a club with no other major club within 70odd miles, a club fro a city that is sodden with wealth, a club that is competing below he levels of, ICT, Ross County, Dundee United etc etc..... It's a fucking disgrace. We should be able to get major investment to help us challenge, we should have a stadium worthy of our city, training complex etc etc, Milne has ran this club in to the ground, his tenure has turned us in to the laughing stock of Scottish football.

I said same few weeks ago, the only consistency all these years is Milne. Everything he touches goes wrong. I don't see us finishing anywhere but 9th for the next decade.

New manager needs funds, having the biggest budget out with old firm etc is great when you have s base of good players but we are shite. Dodgy keeper, pish fullbacks, crying out for a centre half, attacking centre mid, winger and striker.

The youth coming through is wasted, some only come through to avoid actually investing in the team. I don't see this cycle of mediocrity ending until the core of the team is better and that won't improve with Milne in charge.

The next manager will come in and stumble around for a while and another 1k will be wiped off the average gate as even the diehards left will find something else to do with their life.

It's fucking depressing, I mean I'm down in Glasgow this weekend and it's the buisness end of the season yet am I going to the game? Am I fuck, I know exactly what will happen, there is no intrigue, nothing to get excited about, nothing to entertain me.... And all thanks to Mr Milne.

Doubtful. He was cremated.

Agree completely. Was very pissed off when Brown trotted out the line in bold against us. We'd take being 4th/5th in this league which isn't too much to ask for with our wage bill as it is never mind with extra investment. 9th again or worse isn't acceptable but apparently our newest board member disagrees.

You'd take 4th or 5th in this league.

It's this kind of apathy that lets the board off with mediocrity.

So... what would be acceptable to you?

I'm sick to the back teeth of the media and opposition fans force fed opinion that we're stuck in the 1980's

We're not.

Half the support are not old enough to remember it or old enough to have seen it.

Acceptable to me?

top 4 in league

European qualification.

Cup final every 5 years or so.

Cup WIN every 10 years max.

Of course it matters who the new manager is.

We have a decent budget (in SPL terms)

If we have a manager that can organise a team, get them playing with confidence, and having a go at teams, then yes it definitely matters.
