Lets Just All Get Behind Mcinnes And The Team!

Recommended Posts

I am absolutely disgusted by the fact that some of our fans are already against McInnes just because he used to play for Rangers. Well so did our god Sir Alex Ferguson, so cut the guy some slack and let's all get behind him and the team.

And to all of the people who are against McInnes, is the fact that he used to play for Rangers the only reason that your not happy with him?

No. He paid money for Ricky foster who is pish. Never finished above 8th in the spl( will freely grant this as an improvement on our last 2 incumbents). Was dreadful and clueless in England with the team he built ( consult Bristol forums for opinions). Have you not bothered to read any of the comments other than tup?

He also has a record of dull defensive football. Consult St Johnstone opinion.

My first reaction was, not another parallel thread, similar to the others, but after reading the title it seemed to be getting the cart before the horse, suggesting that the priority is to support McInnes without any reservations.

My view is that I primarily support the team, and if they produce results, then the manager will get my full appreciation as a result. He has something to prove, and if he does that successfully, then he will receive my unequivocal loyalty, not before.

Let's not get behind him. Let's sit on our hands and let the guy prove he deserves to be our manager.

If he does that, then let's get behind him. And if he doesn't let's boo the cunt till he fucks off.

Until then let's treat the guy's appointment with the utter indifference it deserves.

I don't care if he played for Rangers. I care that he was the cheap and lazy... but mostly the cheap... option.

Fuck him... I'll get behind him when he's worth getting behind, not before.

To be fair on Foster, he didn't want to move. However if you can find a picture of Richard foster smiling with a Rangers top on I will go completely anti Richard Foster.

Aye, Foster fair wanted to turn down the opportunity to play for his boyhood heroes, aim for a league title, cups and a champions league carrot, in favour of bidin' here and getting dogs abuse from the stands for his utterly inept performances, fuckin' horrible little cunt that he is. He was off to limpy park quicker than redstar to a Broon wake

If I were in charge of the Marketing Department (which I don't believe actually exists) I'd probably toe the party line and be absolutely delirious with unbridled fucking joy at Derek McInnes becoming manager.

But I don't work for the Marketing department... so Derek McInnes can fuck right off.

You must have pretty big hands if he can hear you sitting on them from them from the U.S of A.

"Fuck him..." Even if things go wrong in his first 5 games as gaffer, which they might not. Even if they do, he's contracted until 2015 and it's after a few transfer windows in which we could truly judge him.

However, he was sacked and therefore "cheap" so "fuck him".

Why would I think he could 'hear me' sitting on my hands if I was even two feet away from him. sitting on your hands makes no noise whatsoever. That's quite a rum thing for you to say, and no mistake, fella :)

Correct. He was cheap, with a piss poor record, and he can fuck off.

You must have figured out the cunning and arcane clues I left lying around regarding my opinion of Derek McInnes.

Good boy.... GOOD boy.

Disagree with that, although I'm not a guru with the stats (nor do I plan to be) under his management he finished above Aberdeen (twice?) with a lower budget.

Whoa, there hoss.... as we say all the way over here in the USA.... I already conceded McInnes' record has actually reached the giddying heights of mediocre :)

As for finishing higher than Aberdeen on a lower budget, you could pit someone in a vegetative state against the geniuses who've managed Aberdeen in recent years and be more or less guaranteed a higher finish than The Dandy Dons.

Mixed rather than piss poor CV in my opinion, both successes and failures on there.

Fine... mediocre record.

I still don;t like it.

Seemed to have a pretty decent record till a few games into this season.

At St Johnstone he got them promoted after 7 years out and established them in the SPL - he has experience of dragging an underacheiving club out of the doldrums in Scotland.

The above is undeniable fact, hence that's a massive tick for me given the state of us at present and I feel his work at St Johnstone is therefore pretty pertinent to his job at AFC.

A long unbeaten run in his first season at Bristol City saving them from relegation, followed by a similar length losing run the season after. Some good, some bad although ultimately lost his job amidst cost cutting. A failure in the end, however in the SPL the quality is lower and I imagine there's less teams spending umpteen times the budget we have than was the case down south - completely different demographic in other words.

Open to debate as to whether folk think those conclusions are valid, but I do think its a so-so CV and hence while I get why folk are underwhelmed to a point, I'd say there's been an overreaction in some quarters.

Time will tell.

This is one of the things... let me bold that bit, hang on.... there, that bit.... lost his job amidst cost-cutting.

One thing that seems an annual event at Aberdeen is cost cutting.

A 'GOOD' manager would still be able to wring results out of a lesser team because he's a keen tactician or he can manipulate his team psychologically. Certainly cost-cutting is a pain in the arse, but someone who was good at their managerial job could live with that.

And he didn't.

He was sacked under the very circumstance he's going to have to deal with at Aberdeen.

There IS an overreaction in some quarters, admittedly... particularly tup, but then tup had a vested interest in it being Adams.

I suspected Adams might be a no-go, simply because there would have had to be compensation, but tup seemed to be in the know. tup assured us it was Adams.

tup was wrong.

So his backlash is understandable, but still, in light of it being McInnes I'm willing to give tup all the leeway he wants.

Sic 'im, boy.

He arrived at Bristol City, facing relegation and cuts in the budget, he saved them despite the fact BC were down anyways, got them playing decent football WHICH I SAW FIRST HAND... players like Neil Danns which he had on loan for BC...

Don't let first hand facts get in the way though :whistling:

Link to comment

Having to half the wage bill when you're already a comparatively small fish in a big pond (as BC are/were) when you're coming up against teams who've just been given tens of millions parachute payments after being relegated from a league with TV money worth similar tens of millions - not being able to compete with that doesn't make you a bad manager in my view.

Yeah, but how many teams does that pertain to... two? (I don't follow English puffba, so I don't know how many teams are relegated), and any money they get will be sucked up paying the contracts of whatever average players they have on 25k a week?

It doesn't make him a good one either, however such is the state if Scottish football I reckon a manager could get us in a good position and keep us there while still not having whats needed to cut it in the English leagues so perhaps DM falls into that category.

He certainly fits one half of that theory, I suppose. He couldn't cut it down south. As for up here, that all remains to be seen. As I've said, I'm here to be convinced. As it stands I'm expecting, possibly, mid table mediocrity at best.

Now even with our cost cutting, we'll still likely have the 3rd/4th highest wage budget in the division and be expected to do well because every other team is cost cutting too.

A completely different set if circumstances therefore to managing AFC in the SPL and Bristol City in the Championship.

Well, he's going to have it as easy as any Aberdeen manager has ever had it... no Huns, Jambos imploding, United and Hibs very much meh. Even finishing 2nd in this league should be within the capabilities of your average special kid.

I have no belief, none whatsoever, that McInnes has the talent to get us anywhere near second, unless it's the result of some easy start of season home ties and some extremely fortuitous results.

Do you think he can get us into second place and remain there?

I don't particularly like Adams, but I could have seen him having us challenging up at the top...

I really despised McGhee as an appointment but still got behind the guy and supported him... even through the first few disastrous games.

I don't despise McInnes but think he is an uninspired and uninspiring choice with a thoroughly uninspired and uninspiring record in management... but I'll still get behind him.

So he's the manager now. No point mumping the gums of making shitty graphics against him... until he has shown us, at Aberdeen, that he either warrants it, or that he doesn't.

Support the fucker until he shows us he doesn't deserve it.

The OP was asking if the fact that he had Hun connections was the reason for the lack of bunting and champagne corks flying in some quarters. The response was to indicate that it was more to do with the fact that he has a record that could be said to be flawed and a track record of playing boring football. Feel free to be really chuffed I you wish. I wish him well and hope Aberdeen win every game they play under his leadership and guidance. Given his track record I doubt it and think as a club we should have been braver. He should however now be in charge but again the club lacked bravery.

Link to comment

Let's just become huns, and support an amalgamation of the Dons and sevco.

Sevco get their quick promotion, we get title challenges galore.

Merge the two clubs, and we can have a McInnes and McCoist dream team in the dugout, with Durrant and Craig Brown backing it up.

Severdeen?

Abergers?

We could play alternate home games at Pittodrie and Ibrox.

If you can't beat them, join them, never a truer word spoken.

Just where did I give any indication, even a teeny one about being "chuffed"?

Nor do I care that he used to play for Rangers because that is not the point I've been making about him all along.

The point I made was about sevco, the zombie incarnation of rangers, which is a club borne of cheating and fraud.

He supports them and thinks they have a grievance.

So all these havers about Jim Bett and Alex Ferguson and all that shite is just nonsense.

They played for a Rangers which had not (to our knowledge) been committing a £100m heist on the taxpayers whilst robbing us of gate money while we propped up a rigged title.

McInnes supports the team that rigged the title and de-frauded fans of our club.

There is obviously a massive difference between the two, I hate having to repeatedly point this out.
