Foster14
Well in the context of an exciting game you'd think there would be shots galore. My recollection of the second half was Spain had two attempts on target. I'm happy to be proven wrong though. I'm no bad like that. A shot needs to be on target to merit excitement? Link to comment

Why do you just want the Spain shot on target then?So a little trundler towards the goalie would merit more excitement from you than a 30 yard thunderbolt that goes inches over? OK. Link to comment

Fair enough mate. Maybe I was tired, not it the mood, fuck knows. I didn't enjoy the game but won't argue with those that did :-) Link to comment
daytripping
It was a good game. I thought Spain ran out of ideas and looked only a shade of the team they have in the past, Italy didn't deserve to lose. The penalties were on another level, so much quality. Link to comment
daytripping
Italy are a good bet for next years World cup I reckon, they need to get a new keeper but other than that they looked like a quality team in the making. Link to comment
Dynamo
Italy have a few great goalies. Marchetti of Lazio is class. Link to comment
The Boofon
Buffon the Italian goalie is ace. He canna spell Boofon very well though. I have a chuckle every time his name is mentioned. 1 Link to comment
tightbreeks
poor baggio, he had a tendency to whitey in the big games. gazza must've thought that gypsy hair-do is mines, and he then cobbled one the gather when he was at laaaaaazio. not a good look for the bonny lad. Link to comment
OddJob
Was exactly when they played each other at Euro 2008, 0-0 but entertaining to those who watched it properly. I mind I said on here that anyone who didn't enjoy it knew nothing about football and Coopy got all roidy at me One of the best games i've seen was the 2006 World Cup semi-final between Germany and Italy. For 2 teams renowned for defensive styles of play it was a surprisingly open game even for 0-0 (until of course Grosso and Del Boy scored late in extra-time). That game could have been the final and tbh i'd rather it was Link to comment

NorthernLights24
2-0 now. Could have been so different if it wasn't for an amazing clearance from Luiz to prevent Pedro from scoring. Link to comment
Ke1t
Hopefully Brazil can keep this work rate up and not give the Spanish time to settle. Link to comment
K-9
See Suarez dived to get an Italian player sent off in early game aswell. Link to comment
daytripping
Spain look out of ideas and out classed, Brazil have been immense, Fred is some player. Link to comment
slippers
Definite penalty. Hilarious miss. Xavi is dead. Iniesta died first but these two are well over the hill these last 12 months. Great players in their day. The very best of great. Shadows now, I'm afraid. While I agree partly with Xavi, Iniesta is still a class act and not even 30 yet. 1 Link to comment
Ke1t
The Brazilian workrate has been unbelievable... Oooft, Neymar decked. Brazil deserve this just based on determination alone. Link to comment
King Street Loon
The over-rated Pique sent off now. This is embarrassing for Spain. Brazil have pulled their pants down. Link to comment
