minijc
Kaymer interests me, been playing pretty well recently and obviously a class player, will stick him on along with Lawrie and Bjorn. Link to comment
The Boofon
I'll wait until SOTR says who will finish last and pick them as the winner. Link to comment

strachanmcgheegoal
Nobody fancying Rose? (as well as Lawrie obviously). Presumably short odds but then there's a reason for that. Joking apart a mechanical straight hitter with a hot putter (Paul) will win. I'd love Day to get it, he's been close once or twice. Link to comment
Sonoftherock
I'll wait until SOTR says who will finish last and pick them as the winner. I think Paul Lawrie is due a stinker - he's my selection to finish last this year. Link to comment
diamondsr4ever
notices that David Lynn was around 200/1, that coould be a huge price, especially with his record this year... Link to comment

MincePie
William Hill gave me a £25 free bet for The Open but I don't really know a lot about golf, any suggestions folks? Link to comment
tightbreeks
if the weather stays good, then no excuses, the best golfer at the moment will win. it's got to be one of the fairer championship courses out there, with regards to bounces and so on. come on paul lawrie, I hope you get a good group in the first 2 days and then a stroll down 18 on sunday with 2 shots in your pooch. I hope Garcia is up for this and hungry as well. puts all this tiger woods stuff behind him and gives it a go. Link to comment
jassb
Good to hear that RS. I'm going down on Friday and Saturday. Expect to see more golf on Saturday since Friday is hospitality. Not sure what package, but viewing is either 9th fairway or 9th green. I was told but cant remember which. Really looking forward to both days, apart from the early mornings, but it'll be worth it and I'll get some sleep on the bus/train. Link to comment
jassb
Never thought of binoculars. Good shout. Did you buy them there or before you went? Link to comment
jassb
£15 mark up for buying there doesn't sound too bad. More important, what kind of lager are they selling at the course? No thanks, just phoned my old man and he's got a pair I can borrow. Like you, I'd probably never be likely to use them again. Link to comment
jassb
Fridays no problem. Thinking more about Saturday when ill be hungover, more tired, and its coming out of my own pocket. Maybe I can stash some from Friday somewhere. Link to comment
jassb
I'm the same, Sunday on the telly. Beers and BBQ in the back garden. Good luck to your guys. Take it you can't tell us who they are? Would be good to lookout for someone with a Dons connection to cheer on. I can only think of one like that, and good luck to him too. Just noticed its looking nice and warm right through to Sunday. jassb
Think I've got you there. Cheers. Link to comment
HH_is_back
Despite him playing well below his best I have a feeling that this could be a good week for Richie Ramsay. He's a fairly accurate driver of the ball and that'll be key at Muirfield. McDowell is another I'll back. Bjorn, Casey, Jacquelin, are all on my short list! Better make up my mind tomorrow. HH_is_back
Well I guess I can strike Casey off that list! Would have noticed when I couldn't find him at PP online! Link to comment
The Boofon
By the way, binoculars. I bought one of them Nikon compacts today with x24 zoom. I could read a tee sign from a third a mile away. Incredible, this modern technology shit. It was high time I did. My last pair was a freebie from somewhere 25 odd years ago and were cumbersome. Not only did I never use them, I never had occasion to use the cunts. Having used these bastards for mere seconds today, and getting a slight headache whist doing so, this may have been my stupidest purchase ever. How small does the ball look if you look through them the wrong way round? ChutneyLove
Paul Lawrie will win. 4 shots in the lead and cruising going up the 15th on Sunday, he'll three putt and momentarily let the chasing pack back in. It's all about parring in from there to make sure of the championship - so he'll do the right thing and pull out a putter on the 16th tee, hitting a glorious 175 yard putt to the front of the green before holing the birdie effort. Two pars to finish and a 4 shot win, beating off the challenge of Rose and Mickelson who have to settle for equal second. Link to comment

For the avoidance of doubt, I was trying a bit of reverse psychology! Of course I wish you all the best and I'll be supporting you all the way! If you can win the Open after Murray winning Wimbledon, 2013 will be the greatest year in Scottish sporting history! No pressure! Good luck! Link to comment
diamondsr4ever
RS, David Lynn at 200's...thoughts? this is going to be a superb Open and I think come Sunday we will see 8-9 players still in contention with 9 to play! bring on the sun and beers..... Link to comment
