Baby Messi was anonomypis when he came on. We would have beaten that lot today but alas not to be. St Johnstone just about deserved to beat us on their second half performance so no complaints from me. Fair play to Saints winning their first ever major trophy.

We didn't play well enough in the second half against Saints to deserve a place in the final. Yeah we missed a few great opportunities but on the day Saints deserved it on the strength of their second half performance. They seemed to want it that little bit more.

Derek's job was relatively easy...the GWT's tenure at the club was the least inspiring in recent memory to the extent that if AFC had started the campaign manager-less , there would most likely have been an improvement ...why he has been elected to the board is anyone's guess...he was and still is a useless cunt.

On a smaller budget & with far less fans support they have had a truly fantastic season.

I would take the Scottish cup & 5th in the league over the League cup & 3rd in the league.

They played well in Europa & have had a hell of a long season & yet battle right up to the end where as we just limped to to finish & fizzled out.

Wright has kept them battling & motivated right to the last kick of the ball where as McInnes (for what ever reasons) has not managed this.

McInnes is certainly a close second for the award imo but ultimately I believe that Wright deserves it more & this highlights the stupidity of awarding it before the season is fully over.

 

All that said though I'm may be biased but will admit that I am glad that McInnes got it.

Don't fall into this guffy trap that the league cup is a Mickey Mouse cup every team plays their strongest team in it up here. Scottish cup is maybe more famous but bar the non league teams its exactly the same.

The Scottish cup trumps the League cup by a looooooooong way for numerous reasons.

Financially, Europa qualification, nostalgia/history & glamor.

You may not like it but the League cup is most certainly a diddy cup compared to the Scottish cup.

The Scottish cup is the oldest club football trophy still in existence & quality of sponsorship alone proves it's far more important than the League cup.
