Kilmarnock V Aberdeen (0 - 2)

With Hayes and Anderson back plus Rooney starting, I think we'll win on Wednesday. Really really gutted by today's result but its already time to move on and thankfully it's just the start of the season. Personally I wouldn't start Goodwillie until he's fully fit and raring to go. I agree I'd start low as he has a lot of energy and will give his all to make sure we get all 3 points. No doubt McInnes will get a performance out of the team on weds after today's display. utd, motherwell and st j can all slip up allowing us to make amends for today.

United game forgotten about. Just look at Arsenal last season for a good example of getting pumped on the first day of the season at home then top at christmas (and still manage to be 20 points off the top at the end).

Big game here need to look for the three points.

Seems the consensus us to ditch Taylor then. I didn't see how bad he was, but I'd be tempted to suggest he should be given a second chance.

We need to give the players who have come in some chance to prove themselves, can't just dump them in the reserves and destroy all confidence.

Rooney has to come back in though, and I'd maybe leave Goodwillie out for a week.

Cant make it due to work...gutted

But Give Monkana a run out even if its as a sub just to see what he's about...Rooney back upfront too in this one,

Taylor was poor at times yesterday but I would leave him in for this one to see if he improves.

An optimistic 2-1 win for me...

Taylor should not be starting when Anderson and Reynolds are fit.

I would go with that as well - maybe drop McGinn and have Considine at LB so Hayes can be pushed forward...but that isn't going to happen.

I've actually no idea who I want to see on Wednesday... Sunday was so disappointing... I think at this stage DM does not know who his best team are either. Defence is complicated by the LB situation. In midfield he is still trying to shoehorn all three of Robson, Flood and Jack into one team, because on paper they are three of our best players. In attack we now have competition for places and although that is a good thing in general it may not help create consistency of team selection. Since fatigue was clearly a factor against United the question is how much will that figure in our starting eleven against Killie? I'd be happy for Taylor to get another run-out and to get-back to some no-nonsense defending. I'd play Hayes, Mcginn and Rooney and Pawlett but sub early if they are not cutting-it.

Langfield

Logan Taylor Reynolds Consi'

Flood Jack

McGinn Pawlett Hayes

Rooney

Subs: - Brown, Goodwillie, J Monakana, Smith, Low, Robson, Shaughnessy.

Consi's not great going forward but he just needs to put the ball in from deep instead of trying to beat his man. Hayes is our best play-maker. McGinn can always make something out of nothing but the boy J Monakana might be a more natural RWger? Although we've plenty firepower I'm not convinced our forward line is actually all that effective?

COYR!

Hearing that McInnes and Rooney have had a disagreement/fall-out which is why he has dropped to the bench last two games - probably pish and a very easy rumour to start given that there are no real indicators as to why he didn't at least start against Utd (can sort of understand not starting against Sociedad). Thoughts? I suppose if he doesn't start tomorrow night then it is pretty clear something is up.

The guy is an out and out goal scorer - on form - why drop him?? If he feels he has to go with Smashingcock, surely dropping McGinn is a better option than leaving Rooney out again.
